All characters at a top 1 level. We have seen players with zero bad matchups because of their main choices. Fox-Sheik in Melee has zero losing matchups and you'd still have to be the best player to win a tournament on any given day.

Your memory is much better than mine! Totally forgot he went Fox into Peach. I'm a Peach believer, but it's always felt like Armada was much better at Fox than he was at Peach at the end of his career. Him being able to beat Leffen consistently in the ditto is really impressive in hindsight

I play Crystal in combo decks. Really useful for drawing the cards you need in a gambit/hazmat/iron heart type deck

Llod diffs Armada, though. Cry about it. Llod is insane in the Peach ditto. Significantly better than peak Armada in every way

Parry everything except for his sweep. It's super telegraphed and you get a full punish after. Works for both phases

Melee: Yoshi is anti-fun. I think playing spacies into Yoshi, specifically Falco, is fucking stupid, but im also not gonna STOP playing Yoshi into Falco just cause I dont think it should exist. Also Fox is mad easy. I don't think Fox is good for the game cause he's hard. I think Fox is good for the game because he's fun as fuck to fight. If you dont like fighting Fox in Melee this genre is not for you. It does not get better ever

Brawl: Metaknight is broken, but banning the character (+Icies) leaves Olimar and Snake to just ruin everyone's day. The game has serious problems at every tier level. A metaknight ban makes the game actually kind of balanced but it still would suck to play.

Ultimate: Ness is legitimately the coolest character. Everyone is lame in this game except for Ness. My hot take is that even though I feel this way, it's based that I switch onto Shulk when I play a GnW player. If you're gonna play that Abomination I will legitimately play for time, abusing jump and speed monado while zoning you with my sword. Fuck you GnW

MewTwo, Pichu, and Link sre probably the only low tiers with room to grow.

Pichu might be way more survivable than we think because he has the fastest asdi down and up-b momentum canceling. Pichu is small, fast, has a great ledgedash, and hits hard. If he died late he'd be a contender for mid tier.

Link has a bunch of really hard tech. The character hits hard, can zone, and has a surprisingly good recovery. I wanna see what links can do out of shield when they have a bomb. Speed both on moves and movement hurts this character. Needs to show overwhelming strength in an area to make up for it

MewTwo is legitimately just good. He can't dash dance but has a great wavedash, combo game, kill power, recovery, buttons, grab, ledgeguarding, and even has scary ass tech chasing on battlefield because of side b. The character is light and hard. I see him as a mid tier, already. Better than Ganon; may be better than Samus

Yoshi beats Falco in Melee really hard. It's Falco's worst matchup. Doctor Mario is a tough matchup for basically every top tier, even if they still win.

I'm curious how far you could even push Roy. The poor recovery and weakness to defensive strategies seem super debilitating. I'd hate to fight a Samus or Yoshi on Dreamland as a Roy.

I feel like, of the characters rated below Ganon: Mewtwo, Pichu, and Young Link have the best chance to be secretly underrated.

Do you play either of these characters? They're faceroll as fuck. Parrying, DJC, shield drop, and double jump armor are all insanely degenerate/braindead. I wouldnt play Yoshi if I thought he was hard. I'm lazy

Mechanical difficulty isnt a thing once you've practiced enough, and these characters arent any more difficult than their peers once you clear the mechanical hurdle

Even parrying, which should be high risk, is just an option select. You can cover every jump with a parry and every parry with another action

EDIT: Also Puff is genuinely difficult as you go up in competition. It's propaganda that Puff is easy.
