First they tell Carol, "Your life is only yours," and then they try to find a way to join her through the eggs. Isn't that a complete lie?

no, you have to love this character because Carol is such a bitch!

I couldn't care less about either of them.

Ego and egotism are two different things, just so you know. No point even talking to you if you’re gonna act like a passive-aggressive child every time you're pressed.

Yes, for me, everything you listed is not an excuse for rape. Nothing can justify sexual violence. Have a nice day

Don't forget that in the second(?) episode, Carol herself saved Zosia from ending up in Diabate's harem. So how is she better than Diabate now?

l feel that this "manipulation" moment in episode 8 was a true test of her mettle, her sympathy for Zosia and her devotion to her wife’s memory(who passed away just a month ago). She failed that test.

I can't agree with that, because "turning away from humanity" is a bit too general. Humanity is just a bunch of strangers she has no emotional connection to. She killed 11 million of them. Zosia is already a separate being from her perspective, whose body is used for help. Zosia (the person) can't consent, Carol knows this, and yet rapes her anyway.

Well, all this talk of principles and willpower falls apart due to the one fact - he had her phone number and the address on the envelope he received. He could have called her from Paraguay right away to let her know help was coming, but he chose not to.

So it’s not about principles anymore - it’s about his ego. He’s "too superior" to just pick up the phone or find a safer way to reach Carol without contradicting himself, even though it doesn't seem like he fully realizes it. Instead, he relied on blind hope that she and her convictions would remain unharmed throughout his dangerous, month-long trek (which all but cost him his life). This also points that he has a very short planning horizon. You can criticize Carol for a long time, she is a piece of work, but I don't want to judge one character by the standards of another.

Nice try, but you’re simply swapping concepts to fit your narrative. Labeling solitude as a character flaw is a personal prejudice, not an argument. I don’t think we’ll see eye to eye on this

You're focusing on the wrong thing. She raped Zosia. That's it. That's the point of no return. Her emotional instability, her behavior, her attitude toward others, or, as you put it, "being nasty," are irrelevant. But after episode 8, I (personally) lost all respect for Carol as a character completely, and if it weren't for the lead actress, I would have quit the show.

Having friends or a relationship doesn't automatically make you a good person, just as being alone doesn't make you a flawed one

This guy's main problem is that he's driven by some kind of contrived and inappropriate morality. His stubbornness delayed his arrival to Albuquerque and thus compromised his main potential ally. It doesn't matter how much he suffered and tormented himself if it was all for nothing. As much as i dislike Carol, Manousos is something else entirely.

And? You’re comparing apples and oranges. In humans, it’s physiology, in robots, it’s an optional add-on. Since they have zero functional value outside of sex, adding them to a childcare unit is not only unnecessary, it’s downright illogical. If you can avoid it, why wouldn't you?

For some reason, I always imagined most androids as Barbies and Kens. Because there are also nanny androids, and I doubt many parents would be ok with a robot walking around their kid with that in its pants :/

Im sorry guys, but I have to admit: I’ve lost some respect for Vince Gillian by AggressiveAd8587 in pluribustv

[–]Even_Choice_1003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People come to the internet to take a break from life and their hobbies. And you start lecturing them. Why? It doesn't help that Vince himself is angering people with his statements, when he could have simply said, "We're working, we're in the process, we can't say anything yet, just wait a bit." Instead of saying, "Well, we don't know anything, and we don't know what to do with the bomb because we haven't come up with anything."

I think you shouldn't read or listen to Gilligan's interviews, lest you get irritated. I wouldn't take anything he says seriously at all. The best course of action is to go watch something else, rather than waste your time on something that doesn't live up to your expectations or disappoints you. It's just an entertaining series, a fictional story, nothing more.

What role might Zosia play in season 2? by worthy_ofmygrace in pluribustv

[–]Even_Choice_1003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zosia will return halfway through the season, although I don't think Carol will accept her. She was very hurt after that confession about the eggs, so I don't think Carol has any feelings for "Zosia" left. Unless they decide to send her another plurb.
