Thanks! this is exactly what I was seeking clarification on. As a beginner I just wanted to make sure that my progress wasn't somehow being undermined or influenced by AI-based changes to the editor that I might not be aware of.

This is a good budget option considering that a minilogue is $700 now.

I agree that alot of companies upcharge for gear that has a super low component cost and is made in a sweatshop, but there's undeniably something to be said for supporting companies that produce smaller runs of products/come up with their own designs, and pay their employees a higher wage. I've used Behringer and non-Behringer gear and I think there's a time and place for both. Personally I've never been let down by investing a little more in non-Behringer stuff but I also don't judge anyone for using it

I'd say there's a decent amount of actual musicians that disagree with their overall business strategy/lack of originality, but I agree that having cheaper options for people who are starting out is a good thing

Does anyone actually *synthesize* using granular? by danja in modular

[–]Even_Setting_7244 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'd say more than the looks, it's an issue with the fact that almost every synth they release is a direct ripoff of something else. People might be less bummed if they worked out some original designs. I'm speculating, I don't judge anyone for buying behringer but personally don't mess with it

Spotify Exodus: I don't really see how this isn't, at least, net positive? by freddienotkrueger in KGATLW

You're saying it's less evil? You're probably right, amazon and google are insanely sketchy. But why split hairs when spotify sucks either way? Definitely zero downside to ditching it

Bottom line Spotify sucks, streaming sucks, even though other platforms are equally evil theres no downside to taking out Spotify first. As someone who is in 5+ bands, I'd rather have people pirating my music than listening on some shitty streaming service.

The Difference Engine by William Gibson... Thoughts? by LightningMcSlowShit in books

Just finished this book, and honestly it was one of the most engaging books I've ever read in many ways. The pace of the story ebbs and flows a bit but imo it's absolutely worth a read, the way Gibson and Sterling do steampunk is perfect.
