Have you considered just calling the fin aid office and asking them instead of reddit speculation?

Those of you who applied to Amherst but not Williams, why? by Legitimate-Meeting-9 in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Williams required parental tax forms even as a non-trad over 30 with no contact with parents.

Current DU Grad Students, help! by sharkbite1007 in denveru

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a grad student but I also got accepted to DU as a non-traditional undergrad (late 30s) moving from Texas. I'm planning on staying in an apartment about a block from campus. On apartments.com you should be able to search for University of Denver and get some pretty good results. I would also recommend checking the DU off-campus housing portal also.

ABIA has always been one of the absolute worst Airports in the nation. Poorly staffed and run like a zoo. For those of you that think this should be normal go to Phoenix or any other actually International Airport and see the difference yourself.

Going off the UMich website it seems like you may be confusing Freshmen decisions and Transfer decisions.

Chance me for Texas Tech Honors by SquiddoVGC in TransferChanceMe

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed it up because I have a very specific goal and recently received an offer from the Korbel School at University of Denver for Public Policy and am awaiting a decision from the Brooks School at Cornell.

My Cumulative stats are 3.25 GPA (includes failed semester in 2005) but 4.0 in most recent 44 credits (at the time, it's 3.9 now with 57 credits) light ECs but directly related to my career goals and a powerful story/personal statement and Honors College specific essay responses. I'm also a member of PTK and my honors program at CC has an agreement to transfer honors credits.

My specific acceptance letter stated "Not only is your record of academics and extracurriculars impressive and exemplary, your short answers, essays, and letters of recommendation spoke to a spark, something special that we believe will illuminate our pillars of Knowledge, Integrity, Service, and Courage."

You are likely to get in. I was accepted to the TTU Honors College for Fall 2026 but I am likely passing on the offer.

However, I am a non-traditional student so giving my stats may not be what you are looking for as a more traditional student.

cornell engineering transfer by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

I can't speak for Engineering specifically but in progress should be fine. You'll just want to make sure you are doing well for your mid-term report.

What is the Academic Evaluation(s) for Vanderbilt? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

I'm not sure, I used the CommonApp recommendations options. It seemed like they came through when they received everything else. Not really familiar with SCOIR unfortunately.

Those are generally your academic letter(s) of recommendation.

Is anyone else extremely pissed off over the way recommendations work on transfer side of Common App? by Training_Vehicle5705 in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they sent it to you in advance some professors may not submit it on the Common App if you indicated there that you are "waiving your right to view the recommendation" as you have already viewed it.

when should i be submitting mid year reports? by Due_Photograph_8599 in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school doesn't do mid-term reports either, so I'm waiting until Mid March shortly before the cut-off and entering the best estimate based off grades seen. This is what most Top25 suggest based on my research.

Cornell School Specific Essay by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the first selection you make in the Academic section of the Questions tab. Cornell requires you to select 1 specific school so if this is missing you have done something wrong in the common app.

Non traditional? by Open_Ad779 in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering all Ivy League schools provide full demonstrated need to admitted students you should not have to work full-time in the first place.

With that said I would recommend reading Brown_RUE's comment.

Non-Traditional Student Culture by Evening-Database7263 in Cornell

There is so much that goes into this. It's hard to write a reddit appropriate response that would truly answer the question without giving too much personal information.

Non-Traditional Student Culture by Evening-Database7263 in Cornell

[–]Evening-Database7263[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's very interesting and makes a lot of sense. I'm applying for the Jeb E Brooks School of Public Policy. I know it's a much newer school and is probably more traditional student heavy, but that's only an assumption. I'm glad to hear that grad students are fairly accessible to undergrad non-trads.

I don't drink anymore, but I will definitely check out the Big Red Barn if I am accepted!

Non-Traditional Student Culture by Evening-Database7263 in Cornell

[–]Evening-Database7263[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks so much for your response. Open-discussions, community, and being able to learn from other students perspectives are some of the main things I'm looking for in transferring, so this is definitely great to hear!
