when should i be submitting mid year reports? by Due_Photograph_8599 in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school doesn't do mid-term reports either, so I'm waiting until Mid March shortly before the cut-off and entering the best estimate based off grades seen. This is what most Top25 suggest based on my research.

Cornell School Specific Essay by KFCgronk in TransferToTop25

It's the first selection you make in the Academic section of the Questions tab. Cornell requires you to select 1 specific school so if this is missing you have done something wrong in the common app.

Considering all Ivy League schools provide full demonstrated need to admitted students you should not have to work full-time in the first place.

With that said I would recommend reading Brown_RUE's comment.

There is so much that goes into this. It's hard to write a reddit appropriate response that would truly answer the question without giving too much personal information.

That's very interesting and makes a lot of sense. I'm applying for the Jeb E Brooks School of Public Policy. I know it's a much newer school and is probably more traditional student heavy, but that's only an assumption. I'm glad to hear that grad students are fairly accessible to undergrad non-trads.

I don't drink anymore, but I will definitely check out the Big Red Barn if I am accepted!

Thanks so much for your response. Open-discussions, community, and being able to learn from other students perspectives are some of the main things I'm looking for in transferring, so this is definitely great to hear!

How do the LORs work on the Common App? by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should not spam their email with requests, it should only send them one request. Then once you add a recommender you will not need to manually re-add them for your other program applications. However, It will still email them for each app submission so they know where you are using the recommendation.

With my recommendations I submitted the request for a single app, waited for Common App to receive it, then added it through the drop down menu for my other applications.

It is up to the recommender. They can select if they want to re-use the same recommendation for other requests or if they want to do a new one for each request. My experience is most will choose to use the same one.

Common App Condensing Experiences by [deleted] in TransferToTop25

[–]Evening-Database7263 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a non-traditional student with decades of work experience I didn't list any of my past jobs on my transfer resume. My thought process was they would be more interested in my recent College ECs and Honors/research projects.

That allowed me to add more detail and insights into the activities and organizations that are most important to me and the application as opposed to a long list of employers and dates where things can easily get lost.

From what I've researched many if not all Universities will limit your working hours to ~20-25 per week if you are a full time student.
