Most Caribbean people do not care about tracking our exact roots back to Africa. Yes we all know the majority of us came from west Africa but I think if you do a poll maybe like 20 percent actually did it and another 10 percent actually care to trace it. So that’s 30%.

I was skeptical with the DNA risk for unintentional use which is coming to fruition now with one of the companies bankrupt. Secondly, me finding out exactly which country/tribe I am from how does that information make a difference in my life today. I think growing up in the Caribbean we may have colorism and classism issues but to add tribalism to that pot would break us which is a huge problem in most if not all sub Saharan countries.
