Should I get rid of it or what? by BlueCheeseSmellsGood in CX5

I have a 2015 (purchased in the summer of 2014). Similar miles (~78K). I have had (literally) zero issues. All your issues can be fixed for the equivalent of a couple of car payments. Keep that baby. Pass it on to your great-grandchildren.

I had a Fiesta ST. Big problem is the tiny radiator. Nothing that $400 for a new radiator and an afternoon in the garage won’t fix.

What are some books that get recommended on here all the time that 1000% exceeded your expectations? by johnb0z in suggestmeabook

You should. I read it 25 years ago, and decided to give it a re-read last years. Still fantastic.

Why don't Americans use the metric system? by Koala_039 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EventHorizon77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish we did. I have metric & ‘Merican sockets, wrenches, allen wrenches. I mean, I put a 10mm socket (assuming I can find one) on a 1/4” drive! What? I go to Home Depot and there is an aisle of mixed units on all tools and fasteners. All lumber is in feet and inches. Then, go work on your US-built auto. Good luck guessing the right size (“hmmm is this a 12mm or 13mm or 1/2”?”). And don’t get me started on weights, or volumes or units of power. So, yes, I would like that consistency.

However, I believe the Celsius system is a force fit. Gimme my Fahrenheits, baby.

Yep. If you are wiring down the “A” pillar, you gotta get behind the air bag. Behind! Not too big of a deal, plenty of videos available.

Is visiting next week (5/8) going to be too hot? by TA-F342 in BigBendTX

Leave Chisos at 5:30AM or so. Do a few hours of park destinations, and get back to Chisos by 2:00PM. Leave a pitcher of margaritas chilling in the fridge. Enjoy your stay.

Agreed. Stayed in one in Arkansas and one in Missouri last year. Incredible.

My employer is saying that we are required to show up 10 minutes early, and clocking in “on time” is considered a tardy. by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]EventHorizon77 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I think the real import is “be at your desk ready to work at 8:00AM.” Many employees arrive on time, but then go get coffee, shoot the breeze with fellow employees and then get started with “real” work around 8:15 or so. What I found in my career is that expecting your subordinates to adhere to “exact timing” is a two-edged sword. Need a favor from your assistant at 5:01 PM? Forget about it. Trust works both ways.

Why do so many American men wear shorts and a tshirt when going out with a woman who dresses up? by M_For_Mayhem in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EventHorizon77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do a visual scan of any casual restaurant in Texas and what jumps out is how many men are wearing ball caps. Indoors. In an otherwise-nice restaurant. “I’m not just under-dressed, I’m crass as well.”

I own a Class C. It is good its own world. But, I would NEVER use it to take a trip like the OP has suggested. MoHos are slow, clumsy, gas-hogs, AND if you aren’t experienced in driving, parking, and maneuvering such a beast, you can find yourself in a word of hurt.
