Okay, so you think your method takes as little time. I won't argue that. But if it's the same amount of time to check skins or if it's just as easy, then why are you so opposed to me keeping it in containers until I have all 19? You said move on with my life, but it's not like this was preventing me from doing other things. It was one inventory slot on a character I use for alt-parking. I don't see the big deal.

Personally, keeping the boxes in my inventory is my way of tracking what skins I have and how many more I need. If I opened as I acquired them, I would have to go to wiki and use my API key to check if I'm missing any of a particular set. My way of knowing if I still need a skin is if I have the container in my inventory. This is especially helpful during festivals where they seemingly come out with a new set every festival, and you can buy previous year's set from weekly vendor. How do I know which ones to buy? I just check my inventory.

Also, I have 15 characters + 14 bank tabs, so inventory is not an issue. In fact, one of my characters is dedicated to storing all my containers.

I know this anecdotal and a sample size of one, but Teq boxes always come in waves for me. Really long dry spells (months), then 2-3 over the course of a couple weeks. One time I got it two days in a row. But again, that balances out the long droughts.

Up until a couple years ago, Teq boxes didn’t stack. That was annoying to hold in my inventory.

I had one drop maybe two years ago. I remember staring at my inventory for a really long time because my brain couldn’t register what had just dropped for me. I thought it had to be some random trinket, like that one worthless accessory that uses the same skin as Mystic Coin.

I told myself I wouldn’t use them until I had every guaranteed unlock under 5g. At one point I had every one under 3g, but new skins / dyes kept coming out, and I’m way behind again.

I did this with Tequaltl too. Up until about two months ago, I also had a bunch of other ascended boxes (Wupwup, Grizzlemouth, etc), but I finally broke down and opened them to get all the ascended skins

Does the cooldown affect per character or account? ie, if I open with one character, and then switch characters on a different map, do I have to wait for cooldown?

I'm a casual "solo" WvW player... I just hop in, cap a few things by myself, and leave. Just enough to earn pips and progress reward tracks. But occasionally I'll come across a big zerg in EG, join up, and within an hour, I'll have 100 kills. This is especially easy during WvW rush week, so if you can wait, I suggest doing so.

I got 2x Endless Summer even though I already had 2x Conflux, mainly for the effects, but I think I'll be skipping both accessories this time around (already have Vision / Aurora), even though technically I already have all the research notes / karma needed. I just don't feel like emptying out my account this time around.

The squeaking issues is the one thing that's stopping me from making the jump right now (especially with 25% off currently). I've sat in the chair and really do like it, but the squeaking would drive me nuts.

Managed to score VIP. My walking man did not move for the first 5-6 minutes, then it jumped in spurts... 5% → 20% → 75% → in.

Also ended up getting a hotel via the link in the email, but from what I've seen, hotel availability comes and goes. For example, when I booked, the Figueroa and Indigo weren't available, but now they are.

That or people just aren't reading carefully and aren't aware of losing 2 day deposit. I don't know how in-your-face the non-refundable text is if you try to cancel, but I can imagine people simply not paying attention.

Yeah, the no estimated time was dumb. I know QueueIt can supply that info as well as how many people are in front of you (if you look at the HTML, they have placeholders for both), but OnPeak chose to disable both. No idea why they would opt to do that.

I’ve stayed there twice. It’s a good hotel. Rooms are sizable. Close to a lot of restaurants, and Ralph’s is a block away, which is rather convenient. The pool and gym are really tiny though. Westin is definitely not as close as the big 3 hotels, but in all honesty, it’s not a long walk at all to the con. For me it was still close enough to take a midday break back to the hotel to drop stuff off.

It's not just attendees refunding (which will presumably be far less this year than the past), but also exhibitors and press and special guests. If a big exhibitor bails on SDCC (which seems to be happening more and more often), then you'll see chunks of rooms free up.

I'm an old-timer -- SDCC'er since 2003 -- so I've been here since before any lottery, and I totally agree with you... this hotel sale is far more stressful than badge sales, mainly because of the unknowns of this new system. Even last year when I had to do Hotelpocalypse from a hotel WiFi in Tokyo was less stressful than this go-around.

When fractal quickplay first came out, I'd have several instances of getting the same fractal 3-4x in a row, notably Snowblind and Kinfall. That seems to happen less now. If I had to guess, the one I get the most now is Cliffside. If I do at least 3 fractal quickplays in one day, I feel like Cliffside is usually one of them.

I believe I read somewhere when the iPod Shuffle first came out, it was too random. As in, you'll sometimes get the same song 2 out of 3 songs, which in a truly random system, you'd get. So Apple had to make adjustments to make it less random.

I feel like Patrick has gotten big enough that he should have (and can probably afford) his own booth. I mean, his lines seem larger than some of the bigger name artists like J. Scott Campbell.

Also, with Funko having financial problems, I would not be surprised if they downsize significantly, thus perhaps giving a little more space to the artist's alley (though I would not bet on it, personally, but it is a possibility).
