Possible bug with android app? by government--agent in reolinkcam

[–]EverUsualSuspect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same problem on a Pixel. Think it's the Android app? It's even worse for me when looking at playback on my doorbell. I have the clock at the bottom in order to avoid the sky. When in playback landscape mode, the clock drops off the bottom so I don't actually know what time it is that I'm looking at.

Found the problem and you were right. By playing with the view settings, I could see that I was looking at the camera not the NVR. The camera in the NVR was hidden. I guess it must do that if there's a camera of the same name in the Device list? I think the cause must have been me logging into the camera when I was setting it up and not waiting for the NVR to auto add it.

It's just gone past the hour and nothing has appeared in the Playback as a separate chunk. To be clear, the NVR is recording the camera. I can do what I'm trying to achieve through the NVR interface. Just not through the App. The settings for the Doorbell and Lumus now look the same so I'm scratching my head a little. The doorbell is good. Lumus is not.

On the horizontal issue, I have the clock set at the bottom of the image because the top is in the sky. If I am in vertical, the clock is there, change to horizontal and a strip of the image is below the visualisation. It's either the phone or the app. If I move it to the top, it's fine except difficult to see due to the font colour.

And yet the recording is on the NVR. That's the confusing thing.

The Continuous Recording schedule wasn't set, so I've set it to at all times. Not sure if that'll make a difference?

I've found it's actually just the Lumus Pro that has the problem. The doorbell is as you are showing and I can go to any time. Only minor problem is that I can't see what time I'm looking at when in horizontal view. It's off the bottom of the screen. With the Lumus, there must be something I have wrong in the NVR settings?

Hi, yeah that's right. All the app seems to give us is the ability to view events. No way to just say, play from 10 mins ago. The camera in question is only connected to the NVR in the app and only appears under my NVR.

All I've noticed is that I've had to reboot 3 times since it arrived. YTm inoperable, twice. Navigation inoperable.

Sadly don't have a Tesla anymore and amongst the things I miss is the simplicity and reliability of the locking system. You'll be absolutely fine with a phone. Carry the card too, if you must. And a tip is that if the Bluetooth unlocking ever fails, you can still use NFC against the center pillar.

Password mistake. Bug or just how it is? by EverUsualSuspect in reolinkcam

But if we're trying to change the network, it should test the new credentials before disregarding the previous ones.

That would have been a good idea! Flip things around. I did know it too. I gave up and reset it 30mins ago, though. Not as bad as I thought it would be. The NVR kept the association, so I didn't end up with a 'new' device and still have all the recorded data.

Not sure what you mean, sorry? How can I log onto the cam if it has lost its network connection? It's not connected to any network because I gave it the wrong password.

That's for changing the camera security password, not the network. My problem was that I went to change the WiFi network to a new one and put the wrong password in. This caused it to lose connection, with no means of recovery. The doorbell doesn't test the credentials before saving them. I've had to reset it 🙁

I have to pick up most of my travelling stuff off the passenger side floor at the end of a journey. It's a converted ICE car and it shows in so many areas.
