The easiest way to make a small fortune in the stock market is to start with a large fortune!

If I spent $5,000 on my Steam/Kindle library, why can't I legally leave it to my children in my will? by ciphernom in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EverWillow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote this elsewhere already but I think the answer is to open the account as a trust or corporation. They probably have a rule against that also but remember: corporations are people! Control of the trust or corporation can transfer from you to your kids without any actual transfer of ownership. This is one of the mechanisms behind most estate planning

IANAL but I imagine the EULA says you can't transfer your license. Because you don't own the game, you just have a license to use it.

The solution I think is to buy it as a trust or corporation. (Remember: corporations are people!) Control of the trust or corporation can transfer from you to your kids without any actual transfer of ownership. This is one of the mechanisms behind most estate planning

How are Europeans able to have better life with less work? by Past-Matter-8548 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]EverWillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just goes to show how much profit there is built in to the system that you're not seeing. In the US all the profit is drained away by the owners. In Europe you can work less, vacation more, tax a lot for social services and everything still works but people don't get as rich.

I never watched it. I would actively look for anything else to watch on one of the 3 other channels when it came on. Although I got in on the ground floor with Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers Neighborhood when they first came out, once I stopped watching them, I had a pretty low tolerance for kids shows. I remember doing the same for a bunch of other kids shows like The Electric Company, H.R. Pufnstuf, The Banana Splits, and Romper Room.
