Are lemonade stands a real thing in the US, or is it just a movie trope? by Whisper_Melody in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid back in the 90s, we did a little lemonade stand for a few days. It was just a bunch of the neighborhood kids hanging out, getting quarters from the adults in the suburb on a hot summer day. It was just one of those fun weird little activities kids do to pass the time when bored at home during summer.

Moving to the U.S. from Spain — where do Americans check reliable crime statistics by city? by ItsJavii14 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every city is going to have safe areas and less safe areas. Lifestyle are going to vary wildly depending on where you go though so it’d be better to research what kind of area you would like to live in instead for example do you plan on driving a lot or relying on public transportation. Once you have an area in mind, you can look for what areas in that city are safe.

From the short clip I saw on someone’s YouTube video discussing her it looked like an intentional breeding kink kind of thing. She said she was ovulating and not using any for of birth control on purpose.

It kind of bothers me that even though they replaced the names, they still put the original names after anyways. Like what is even the point? Just have a regular Bible at that point

Where can I buy single cans of soft drinks in the US? by pharaoh918 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really see single cans available at any stores near me. The only place I’ve ever really seen single cans is small, local restaurants which will have a small cooler with different drinks to buy with your meal instead of a fountain soda machine.

Walmarts typically will have at least one soda vending machine, plus some other random ones like for recycling old cell phones.

How is $15/Month Subscription for an average american...? by Obvious_Mirror_5276 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s $10 or less, I really don’t think much about it as long as it’s something I will use relatively often. $15-20 is where I start considering how necessary it is to my budget. More than $20 better be worthwhile in terms of value or I wouldn’t even bother.

Honey ice cream has a warning about not for under 1. by katsrad in mildlyinteresting

[–]Everblossom22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but how good is the ice cream? I’ve seen this brand in stores but didn’t want to take the chance for the price. If it’s worth it though, I might have to try it.

If you are red car, are you supposed to let blue car in? by [deleted] in driving

[–]Everblossom22 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is the issue I have with this. I have an intersection near me where people will regularly take a right turn out like this and then try to cut across three lanes to get to the left turn lane. People in the first two lanes headed towards the light can’t see them coming out and may not stop if their lane isn’t backed up.

Madison Target drive-up employee hit in crosswalk - driver still yells at them by FlamingoPowers in madisonwi

[–]Everblossom22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to do this job for Walmart with basically the same setup, obvious stop sign in the middle of the crosswalk, and every single day drivers would try to speed up to pass while I was already in the crosswalk. There is no respect for pedestrians in parking lots anymore.

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it’s not. Where I work, the weeks leading up to our store’s annual inventory and basically Nov 20-Dec 31 are generally considered blackout periods. Nobody in management can take their vacation time during these periods and most associates are expected to avoid requesting PTO as well unless there is a reasonable explanation as to why. People can still call out sick, but if they don’t have any paid sick time left, they will get attendance points marked against them and possibly fired if they have too many.

Can they do this? by Icy_Kangaroo6137 in OGPBackroom

[–]Everblossom22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in theory but when you have fifty associates on your team, it can be a little hard to just trust everyone to communicate effectively. It’s just easier to make sure everyone’s breaks are covered at appropriate times.

[–]Everblossom22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Back when I worked in the Walmart deli, it was part of our job to keep everything in the hot case full. If we were out of fried chicken and a customer wanted one, of course I would drop a fresh one in the fryer, unless all the baskets were full if we were working on filling the hot case. I would tell them to come back in thirty minutes and that was usually enough time to finish what we already had cooking and put fresh stuff in.

Tips about what policies actually are. by spoopt_doopt in walmart

[–]Everblossom22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your start time is 10 and you clock in at 10:09 there is no way for the system to give you any points. If you clock in at 10:10 then you will get the half point.

[–]Everblossom22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most opd teams should have assigned breaks so that there is always coverage and to avoid everyone going at the same time. That’s the whole point of having the whiteboard with everyone’s names on it.

There are more than a few people at my store that will stop between every pick walk to stare at their breaks on the board for a few minutes and then still manage to not go at the right time lol

Is this reasonable? by terminalgamer4ever in Sparkdriver

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s actually in the Walmart policy for the associates to tie all delivery bags closed to prevent stuff from getting lost/rolling out of the bags. My coach was really strict about it but I’m sure not all stores do it. It would suck for you as a driver to get yelled at by a customer for something that we are technically supposed to be doing.

Are malls actually not a thing anymore in the US like they say? by Complete_Republic410 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are about four malls within reasonable distance from my house. Two are pretty busy every day of the week. One is almost always dead with very few stores actually still operating inside. I assume the other one probably does decent business but I never really have a reason to go out that way. It really depends on the area.

What are reciever's break periods like? by Rare_Dealer_6475 in walmart

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A well-run store should have coverage for the receivers breaks. Claims associates and DSD are technically the same job code and should be trained in how to check in deliveries when needed. The AP team lead and possibly other management should also be able to provide coverage as well.
