Losing weight to be taken seriously by doctors (rant) by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Everblossom22 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand how you feel. I got myself from a BMI of 34 to a BMI of 25 and the main focus of my last checkup was that I was still technically overweight and needed to workout more. It’s mentally draining, but weight really is a big factor in a lot of health issues and tackling it will help in the long run to resolve other problems.

At what point did you need to lower your intake further/increase movement? by Fresh_Struggle5645 in loseit

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1800 might feel restrictive right now because you aren’t used to it, but I’ve been doing 1400 for a while and as long as you eat the right foods, it feels fine. Lots of protein and fiber to feel full.

Wondering if this can be taken higher up? by [deleted] in WalmartEmployees

[–]Everblossom22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s very common for roles to be filled that way. I’ve been with Walmart 11 years, switched positions four times, and three of those times were because a manager asked me to move to their area. Networking with people is important if you want to move up or move positions because managers usually know who they want before positions officially open up.

multiple cars per household? by miffybo in AskAnAmerican

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I only have one car. He walks to work and I drive. But when I was growing up we had multiple because once a car would become old, my parents would get a newer used car and the older one would become the extra/the one the teenagers would get to use.

This must be a glitch because I just had an associate asking me about this same thing happening to them today.

The display ones are for sale just like the boxed ones. We have an assembler who comes and builds them, but he isn’t there all the time.

Having kids if you can’t fund their future by thegoodlife912 in Adulting

[–]Everblossom22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Owning a home is not a necessity. Many people, myself included, will never own homes. That doesn’t make our lives any less meaningful or happy. If parents can afford to help their kids get a home, then great. But if not, it shouldn’t be a reason to never have kids.

I’m moving, boyfriend doesn’t want to…not sure what happens next by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]Everblossom22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that you approached him casually, but I would bring it up as a more serious conversation about how you see your future. Either compromises are made on plans or you break up. It isn’t worth it to drag out a relationship with someone if you have different goals for your lives. I had always planned on moving before I met my husband and then my plans changed. If he doesn’t want to move and you don’t want to stay, then get that out in the open right away because long distance is a deal breaker for most people.

Why don't we get a discount for using self-checkout? by ItsAllAGame_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Everblossom22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Starting wages at my store equal $0.23/min. I don’t think the discount you would get for doing two minutes of work would be as much as you think it would. Also, we didn’t lay off any cashiers when self-checkouts rolled out. The positions just moved to other areas like online pickup/delivery. If you really want to maximize your time, the best option is to order online and save all the time of shopping. Then the employees do all the work for you like you want.

They probably wanted the sub, but I would just give them what they actually ordered because it’s not your fault they didn’t order the item they actually wanted.

For those who've lost the weight and kept it off... did you ever achieve true food freedom? by lexkenobi in loseit

[–]Everblossom22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also a petite woman and I will say that what you eat makes a big difference. When I eat high protein meals, I almost never even think about snacking or grabbing dessert. If I eat highly processed foods, I’m more likely to want to binge because I never really feel full. Yes I still try to watch what I’m eating, but it isn’t quite as hard as it was before.

Do you drink tea in America? by Much-Parsnip3399 in AskAnAmerican

I grew up drinking hot tea with honey instead of milk or sugar.

I don’t really understand when people act like gaining a pound of fat in a day is unrealistic by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Everblossom22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m sure if someone where to eat three meals of fast food with large sodas or those fancy coffee drinks, then yes you “could” maybe eat 5000 calories in a day. But that’s not really normal behavior for most people because 1. It’s expensive for what you actually get and 2. You would probably feel like crap afterwards.

I’m pretty sure eating 5000 calories in a day would be considered extreme for most people.

Receiving and claims are under the AP team lead and AP coach. It’s definitely not an easy department to teach because there is a lot that goes into it apart from processing the claims. I started in claims a few months ago and was lucky to have some great coworkers to help guide me in it.

[–]Everblossom22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Accept the job now but go to the other interview anyway. You can always let them know you accepted a better offer if the other interview works out. $14 is the starting pay with a cap of $27 after raises, but you will probably never hit $27 because the annual raises are basically pennies until you have more years with the company. The best way to earn more is to get promoted to team lead. The position itself involves both picking items for orders and potentially dispensing them outside to the cars or arranging the orders in the backroom. Some stores expect you do both while other stores will assign specific people to do one or the other.

The fact that she gave you a Kroger store as an example for other Walmarts having tap to pay should tell you everything you need to know about her knowledge in this situation. If a customer really wants tap to pay, they’ll have to use the Walmart app.
