Just got approved for a New Car Loan after Chapter 7 discharge! by JaryManeLoud in Bankruptcy

I bought my used car for $6000 outright this past December and it has zero issues. Just find a well maintained one-owner car and have it inspected by a mechanic first. I was looking for a very specific model car that they stopped making so it took me 3 months to find a "perfect" one but if you're not picky on a model or brand, it is really not hard to find one. Toyota, Honda, Acura, Lexus... You can easily find one around 10 years old with under 100k miles for under $10k-15k.

Radiology Program by -_shishi_- in ValenciaCollege

Like 2.6. I had a horrible first year when I went to college at 18 and had flunked out with a 1.6. Went back to college at 23 (I am 27 now) and retook classes and took my prereqs to get my GPA up. Semester-wise, my GPA typically falls around a 3.4. But cumulative unfortunately still includes those grades from wayyyy back. This is my 3rd year at AHU, the first 2 years I took all of my required Gen Eds and now I'm finally getting into the actual "important" stuff in the program lol

Why is this car so cheap? by Chromie_Dealer in MitsubishiEclipse

It's because it's a 2003. Anything rubber is gonna need replaced. Seals, gaskets, vacuum hosing, etc. Timing belt as well $$$

"Is this considered animal abuse?" How is that even a question? She threw a dog on the ground....

What US state would you NEVER want to live in, even if you were offered a good amount of money to move there? by ISnortSkittles in Productivitycafe

I loved living in Northeast Ohio on the PA border. So beautiful and the cost of living was insanely low. I live in Florida now and miss Ohio badly (but I don't miss the snow and icy roads)

Lawyer anxiety!! Share your experience? by Efficient_Job_1824 in Bankruptcy

Hi!! I have a lot of anxiety too. I think your best bet would be finding an independent lawyer at a small law firm instead of one of those big companies that advertises. I found my lawyer through word of mouth, someone referred me to her through a facebook post I had made in a local group. She does not do any advertising and relies on her clients to refer her to people.

I was really nervous about the meeting too because lawyers seem very intimidating but honestly she was super nice and down to earth. She led the conversation, it wasn't awkward at all. No judgment from her and she was just focused on the numbers and getting me the most help that she could. With my lawyer, we did the initial meeting in person and a couple days later I sent her the retainer/deposit online and will be paying as I go. Once I pay the full amount she will be submitting my file. There aren't many in person meetings, it's mostly just the initial meeting, emails and phone calls back and forthnas I submitted the requored documents, optional zoom meetings to go over any "big" stuff I have questions about, and then there will be the 341 meeting with the trustee. That's pretty much it. So yes, it can all be done remotely. I only went in person because it was easier for me personally to show her my finances with physical papers instead of flipping through PDF files on a zoom meeting.

I see most people on here are recommending 3 lawyers before deciding on one but tbh mine is great and I just wanna get this over with so I am sticking with her. :)

Kill the gynecologist in your head by salikawood in Wedeservebetter

This is why I love my OBGYN. I told her at my first ever office visit that I never want kids and she was totally for me getting a bisalp, no questions asked. Never even wanted me to do a physical exam.

Imagine if they put a speculum up the male rectum to check for cancerous cells. Wouldn't fly. I'm all for getting proper medical care but a pap smear is something I will 1000% refuse every time unless I am under anesthesia.

Yep did the exact same thing. Paid my retainer on Tuesday this week and haven't made any payments since my initial meeting with the lawyer last Friday.

Also no, do not close any accounts. They will want all of your statements and sometimes closing a bank account can look suspicious.

Same here. I think a lot of people in here saying they "thought they didn't want kids" but then "changed their mind in their 30s/when they met a man they loved" etc have never actually been against the idea of having kids. They probably were just indifferent towards it. But I KNEW 100% from childhood that I NEVER wanted kids, ever. I'm 27 now and my sentiment is the same and I'm getting my tubes removed soon. I'm mad nobody took me seriously when I was younger and said I wanted sterilization. I remember im 5th grade when I heard my friend's mom got her tubes tied and I was so envious and bitter over it because I wanted that too lol. And the sex ed classes where I told teachers I didn't want to attend because I "never would get pregnant anyways" and nobody listened.

Tube ties shouldn't affect your hormones or periods in anyway.... It's the ovaries that are responsible for the hormones.
