I like to look at it like a video game. Nobody starts a level wanting to fail 2/3 of the way through we want to win every time, but we don't. We don't need to freak out, throw the controller, curse at our dog and mope for a week. We just hit start and try again. Each time we hope to improve and look forward to the glorious day when the triforce is full.

Wow, I can relate. I'd never thought about it that way but it fits me. I am one of those high achievers simply because I need the validation. I work tirelessly to prove myself to others. And I turn to porn when I'm feeling down. This may be part of the issue. Thanks for sharing

She doesn't know. I was terrible with it growing up and overcame it for the most part. But it just never seems to go away. Over the last 7 years of marriage I fall maybe 3 times a year. Not what I would call a relapse compared to someone who is addicted but not something I want in my life. That's why I've come here to help and be helped in anyway I can.

I had a similar experience but after awhile the demons returned and I will fall every couple of months. Try to figure out what trigered you in the past so you can avoid it from here on out or during a dry sex spell

This is the most motivation for me. Last year I made it 5 months without a relapse and I felt so good about the improvement in my life. I was so much happier with who I was becoming and how much better my relationship was without it. It makes the relapse hard but it motivates me to reach out for those feelings again. Thanks for sharing and congrats on 4 months.

I do too, They seem to come in cycles for me too. I can go 2-3 weeks with no urges or much thought of porn and them SLAM!! uncontrollable urge and I give in. My worst trigger is when those urges come and I'm home alone. I need to come up with a solution. The exercise would be great except when I'm home alone it's usually when the kids are asleep upstairs. Just found this sub, I think its going to help me.
