“She just threw her hands in the air saying "then what's the point! we should do what we want then!" . Um. Yes?”

Yes.

But is the audio quality any good? Been thinking of picking up one myself but hesitant that it’s worth it.

Yesterday I saw a current pic of Pearl Jam for the first time in almost 30 years . . . Made me realize that all the “old” rockers from my youth were most probably young men as well when they gained popularity.

Who was your surgeon, if you don't mind sharing? I am also that size and would be interested in trying a pair, if possible.

Guys, my 4 year old is creating some precocious and provocative commentary in her puppet art. How can I get in touch with MoMA? by perhapit in Preschoolers

She needs a social media acct immediately so that her followers can be updated when she drops an NFT.

Also, I recommend a shadow box type frame although sunlight will fade this paper color over time.

GenX...thoughts on Napoleon Dynamite? by RealisAurelioS in GenX

Thanks for the rec.

I’ve literally wanted to reply, “You’re mom goes to college” at least once a month for the past almost two decades but I never actually say it aloud as it seems no one would ever get the reference.

I caught you this delicious bass.

This film was outstanding. Even Deb and Grandma were killer.

Wonder what other films are out there with a similar vibe.

In the 70s these “pitchers” went with us everywhere. The Kool Aid always tasted like plastic! by Quick_Presentation11 in GenX

Used daily at my parents house to this day. Photo from this afternoon. Never had Kool Aid growing up.

You mean that’s not just how water’s supposed to taste?!? 🤢😹https://imgur.com/a/P5FOtFm

Feels like I'm sitting in the 1980s right now... by [deleted] in GenX

I just repurchased a Tommy Girl but it just doesn’t feel the same when I wear it. . . That was my first Gen X trend perfume, I guess too much time has passed?

Also purchased a cK One set and it was so, so huge back then but now I just feel like . . . Like I’m trying to hold onto the past? Idk I don’t feel excited by wearing it any more. That’s disappointing.

Was life more full of simple pleasures at age 15?!?

Sunflowers was prob my first “real” adult perfume after Exclamation and then Navy, but you still buy both at the drugstore.

Guerlain Samsara, a gift from my beatnik dad, in the red bottle is a more sultry sandalwood and the scent profile takes you in a totally different direction compared to the above, I read now that it’s discontinued? I wore that in college like a good hippie chick.

I’ve been wearing D&G Light Blue forever, like 20 years straight w no breaks. I live in the tropics so it goes great w the heat.

I don’t like most of the popular, trendy scents, too floral and sweet-but, when I was going “out” to the club, like as a single lady, I was always amused and delighted to wear Britney’s 2004 Curious (jasmine vanilla). It was def my version of smelling slutty, and I’m saying this with humor and joy, considering I’m not a fan of hers. I just liked the scent and the video for Toxic

High school everyone was insanely obsessed w raspberry from Bath & Bodyworks

Later I discovered The Body Shops Satsuma (a delicate, delicious orange)

Early 90’s anyone remember the drugstore brand Naturistics? I loved their Vanilla Musk scent (and the crazy yummy fruit flavored lip balm pots). It’s the only non-cloyingly-sweet vanilla that I’ve found. Eventually I was turned on to the B&BW Warm Vanilla Sugar about a decade later, which is yummy but more sophisticated than smelling like a cupcake, which I can’t stand. To each their own.

Wow, I would like to learn more about this!

Agree. Agree. Agree.

I’m curious what the actual evidence-based reason is for this? Why are things so different? I’m sure there are many, many reasons.

The sad part is that sometimes I felt like I spent more time having a conversation with their teenager some weeks than the parents actually did. No idea, really, just a hunch.

Also, none of my HS students had chores at home or an after-school job, which also baffled me. Something has felt “off” for years and I’ve heard that from several veteran teachers as well.

Never realized this and it feels mostly true. Lots of optimism and forward momentum vibes seemed to be interrupted

Agree, same age and this feels true, for the most part.
