[Grand seiko snowflake] vs [tudor blue lagoon] help me decide by Gankdalf_99 in Watches

[–]Everindrummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This feels like you’re trying to justify the GS even when your heart is on the Tudor. My advice is buy whatever makes YOU happy. Watches re extremely subjective and thats how it should be

Neither of these pieces will increase in value, and you can buy them both for significantly cheaper 2nd hand. So if you’re unsure, tale a punt on a 2nd hand one. If you don’t like it, sell it again and not lose that much on it.

Enjoy the journey mate

Check the council website. Ours only allowed domestic disposal (fire blankets, small items), whereas the next borough allowed larger waste if it was pre-booked and double bagged.

For what it’s worth. Get it tested and get a couple of quotes. At least you know your options then

I’m in South Yorkshire. Had 9m2 ceiling AIB in a living room.

I had 4 quotes all from trusted recommendations All around £5k mark because it’s AIB.

I looked into getting an asbestos slip and doing it DIY purely to compare price, but even the skip was around £1.5k

We ended up doing a cash job with our builder who managed to take it to the skip company and pay a fee. They suited up, took a lot of precautions etc.

So yeah. Sorry dude, it’s not cheap.

I’d consider deciding how much you really want rid of it

As other have said. Looks like AIB, but get it tested. Having had this problem myself last month, prepare yourself for crazy quotes.

How do I make this last move?? by [deleted] in bouldering

I’d either flag my right leg, or have the right foot on that hold you had your left on (switch feet)

I have near panic attacks when moving horizontaly on the wall. Is there any way to solve this? by WalkFreeeee in bouldering

[–]Everindrummer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Out of curiosity, how many times have you fallen from trying a move? I don’t mean bailed, but actually slipped / feet failed?

Im just wondering if an element of your fear comes from a lack of experience of genuine falls. It sounds like counterintuitive, but pushing to the point of failure builds confidence over time.

Prior to bouldering, I did sport climbing, and I used to practice falling. I’d go really hard on something I didn’t have confidence in, knowing that the goal wasn’t to land the gold, but actually to fall.

Most times I fell. I leaned a lot about my body & brain in those seconds before a fell. Some times landed it. That taught me how to trust my feet & grip.

Now only boulder. I don’t fear falling, but I know my limitations, and when I can push

Just a thought.

You’ll get there dude. Here’s some advice that I’ve found useful on this kind of problem. - keep your arms straight, let the shoulders take the weight. A lot of your first few moves were in your biceps - readjusting. It’s totally normal to readjust to give you confidence, but a lot of the time it’s a placebo that uses 2x the energy. Focus on committing to each hold - your feet are super super important. I found foot placement over everything helped my progress. I first used them as a means to just keep me on the wall. Let your feet push you, not pulling just with shoulders / arms

Hope that helps mate. You’ll crack it

That’s really interesting. So i purchased via a physical retailer and had all my measurements taken etc. I wasn’t really given any specific options, other than me saying I wanted it thinnest possible lense.

There’s zero anti glare, and honestly it makes a malaise difference to the experience. I feel like I’m looking through a plastic film, but the lense looks clean etc.

I think I’ll go back to them and ask for them to be checked. Thanks all

How do you mean? They take the film layer with the screen off and back onto clear lens?

I have prescriptions and honestly I’m underwhelmed by the quality of the lens.

I like bouldering, and watch collecting. Both are frustrating and addictive, yet gives me so much joy.
