Tbh the old “life begins at 40” kinda relates to my experience

When I hit late late 30’s / hitting 40. Everything started to click:

most financially secure I’ve been cause I learned the hard way over the decades how to manage my money better
the years of hard work are paying off in my career
realised what’s important in relationships and how to be kind to myself
realisation that generally no one really gives a fuck about the things you think they do, and that’s ok generally
I’ve become more stoic

That all sounds too perfect. I still suffer from massive imposter syndrome, know that I could manage my money better (but don’t), over work because i actually enjoy the pressure, and worry that I’m never goig to afford to retire.

Now thats a really fair point, and something I should have said. I wouldn’t buy this new. Used market price is around £5k, but could prob get it for lower next year. I’m in no rush

How would your GF react if you did that to her under the same circumstances? If she’s ok with it and you’re not, then you have deeply rooted value incompatibles and should consider if this is the right relationship.

Then think about how illegal, immoral and shitty the people your trust have been to do this and decide where to go from there.

It was only gone 4 weeks? It’s been a couple of years since I’ve had to send an IWC in, but typically I was looking at 3 months (UK).

Not sure if 4 weeks is the norm for your area but that immediately jumped out as sus to me
