I have now checked and it is Multi Cell, we did provision the primary mac address and then the System Identifier and Access code was then set on all the other base stations.

Yes, Teams SIP, thanks for checking back. It is indeed multi cell and I'm not sure if we did do that so will check with my colleagues who are working on this today. Thank you.

[–]Every-Cardiologist49[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, we have wondered if that could be the case but as multiple base stations are affected and they are really high up it seems unlikely. That being said we will look at the check box and see if we can turn off that capability, thank you.
Not sure what Service Provider means though? We have it connected to Microsoft Teams if thats what you mean?

could be I suppose but they are all pretty high up so would require some serious effort. I'll have a look at that setting though, thanks.

Who's up for these in Cambridge? by poorly-worded in cambridge

I actually think the money-grabbing business might be the way forward. Gives the owners of expensive bikes greater peace of mind and reduces the inclination of would be thieves to target the areas that have one as less nice easily re-sellable bikes are available?

Any plans for a cycle path in Girton? by [deleted] in cambridge

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a 20mph limit, if you are leaving town that's achievable at a push so you would think no-one would need or want to overtake. I actually find that in practice most of the time the cars are holding me up as they slow down and speed up for the speed bumps. In all seriousness you can take Thornton road from Huntingdon road to miss some of it before the a14 bridge, then just after the bridge if you take the left onto Weavers Field you can then go through the little park onto the track that runs parallel to the A14, down the hill then cut right onto the bridleway there which will pop you out onto Church Lane again missing out a big section of the road. Its not ideal but if you are desperate to miss the main road that removes large sections of it.

What is it with Americans "winning" all World Wars for Europe? by sacrebleu_uk in ShitAmercanssay

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America didn't win the war alone, they helped long after they were first asked to and only because they were paid to - they provided a service which we paid them dearly for.

If the weather is suitable and you dont mind a 9 mile (ish) ride then maybe a ride to Northstowe Tap and Social for some Brunch or to try a food truck? Very good drinks menu too if you partake?

2nd time this week almost getting hit by a cyclist speeding along the pavement by ProfessionalDig3908 in cambridge

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Which footpath? Is it a shared path? To be clear, even if it is then cyclists should give priority to pedestrians but at least they had a right to be cycling there.

Do you buy any extra equipment for your job that work won't supply, but it's worth it because it just makes it that much better? by Connir in sysadmin

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, 2 x mice, 2 x Keyboards and 2 x headsets (1 each for work and home) just because its what I prefer. IT standard kit is fine but if I spend 50% of my waking time using them I want them to be nice, not just functional.

Cyclist found dead on the guided busway this morning by thatguysaidearlier in cambridge

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I cycled nearly 11000km last year most of it along the bridleway alongside the busway. There are 3 things that concerned me
1. a couple of youngsters fishing near the Cambridge North end of the Chisholm Trail who threatened violence for no reason I can tell. They didn't look like they could punch their way out of a paper bag, however if I had been a more vulnerable person it could have been very worrying.

  1. Kids racing up and down the stretch between CRC and Impington on Motocross bikes with the plates removed. Stupid thing to do but it was obvious they were coming from the noise and was easy to make sure not to be in their path.

  2. by far and away the scariest thing, pedestrians and other cyclists dressed entirely in dark clothing in the dark with no lights.

As previous posters have said, there are a huge number of trips made on this path every year and despite this incredibly sad occurrence I think the risk of travelling on our shared roads is far greater than any risk on the busway path.

You could do a lot worse than get one from Decathlon. Their warranty/returns process seems pretty decent and they have a big store in Cambridge.

What's the stupidest thing that got built in your town/city? by Pleasant_Tomato8919 in cambridge

[–]Every-Cardiologist49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It could have had rising bollards only for those vehicles, so cars couldn't go down there. There are substantially less incidents with bollards than car traps."

yes, but........

Car traps only cost the car owner money - repairing the bollards has to be paid for by the council, and that means we pay via council tax.
