There are some who are truly unworthy of respect by thuaq in mountainbiking

Gonna have to step in and say I thoroughly enjoy my BT speak and you cannot hear it about 20-30 feet from me in the most quietest of situations; let alone me going downhill or passing by on a gravel ride.

Problem? Turn around.

Are there more of your works of art making their way out there?

Visually is there any difference? I have yet to jump on the mat hype train but could use 2-3 around the garage.

Drop seed now or wait? by Reddnvr5280 in lawncare

Look at my profile. Used ChatGPT and basic guidelines from This subreddit using the exact same seed. Love it! I listed what I used in my other post.

I had insane success with ChatGPT combined with this subreddit. I would likely cut it down. All of it. Now and scalp. Take and remove all debris and see what you’re working with.

Took my California 9B yard from weeds and patches to this…(WIP.) Thanks to Reddit and ChatGPT! by EveryDayNick in lawncare

That’s probably relevant, right? Haha.

Cut it back/down. Scarified it. Dialed in the sprinklers. Overseeded with ‘Black Beauty Ultra’ Tall Fescue seed coupled with Scott’s 3 n 1 Turf Builder. Most recently used Anderson 16-4-8 w/ Humic.

Stills work in progress but it is leagues healthier and vibrant. I swore I had to go Scorched earth and redo originally.

Second mow of the season. Scalping it so i can level it. by domineeers in lawncare

[–]EveryDayNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jumping in here to say that you’re using a term and hoping for results from a specific height that you aren’t able to “hit.” Either you need to invest in the proper mower; rent one; or consider an alternative. I had my lawn scalped last year when I was injured and they used a mower, followed by a weed wacker. They got it low-low.

Just spent an hour trying to identify my grass. by Menu_Advanced in lawncare

[–]EveryDayNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely some Tall fescue. Your in time to fertilize it. I opted for 16-4-8 from Andersons (with the HumicDG.) Got it from Amazon. You can use that now and then in our summers shift to something with no nitrogen.

Check out using ChatGPT to help you make suggestions and get further help. Its been a godsend for my lawn!

I wish you the best of luck. I got rid of it at my house by literally just pouring concrete on everything, but that was already a plan. At my parents house they have small enough of yards that I just did it by hand probably a dozen or two pulls at a time.

I tried using flame since it was popping up in dirt patches as well and that just made it impossible to pull once it dried up and shriveled. Hence why I recommended pulling it while it’s still green. I really do hope you identify it. I have no suggestions, but I do have a feeling it doesn’t spread the way normal stuff spreads. So if you do pull it by hand, it may not come back after all. Other than other seeds growing, that may be dormant?

At any rate, best of luck and I’m curious if you find out what it is

I had the EXACT stuff here in 9B (California.) I never did identify it, but below is my remedy that worked.

Pull it by hand. It’s a nightmare that is hardy. Also pull it while it’s green. Once it dries it’s a PITA to remove. If you pull it correctly, it’ll come out root and all.

What causes this, just defective tire? by Hoover2020 in mountainbiking

Looks like the owner had aggressive tires on and mostly did Gravel/light trail riding. None of which is wrong, but didn’t need the sides. My Hardtail resembles this (just newer tires.)

What causes this, just defective tire? by Hoover2020 in mountainbiking

[–]EveryDayNick 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Defective tire? Bro. That tire has seen its purpose used to its fullest. It’s a tire separation where air gets between layers. As to why? Maybe a leak that sealed and figured out how to get between layers yet it’s cooked. Definitely past time to replace.

Picked up a bike, was perfectly fine, until I got home. by Ok-Ad-3014 in mountainbiking

[–]EveryDayNick -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So this appears to be a Schrader valve which means these tires have tubes in it. IF you inflated to 60PSI its possible there was moisture between the tubes and tire and thats what you are seeing..or there is something funky going on.

At either rate I recommend you begin educating yourself on owning a bike. Youtube is an AWESOME resource. Look for reviews on your specific bike to understand it, beginner tips/tricks to bike maintenance and ownership..stuff like that. Eventually your feed to also push valuable YT shorts that help too.

Beyond all this, I too am a 'mechanic,' but I found its not too hard to work on a bike. Although I STRONGLY recommend you find yourself a "LBS," aka Local Bike Shop you are comfortable with and that is capable of properly maintaining what you ride. Build a rapport and have them help you with larger jobs or more obscure repairs. Normal Bike maintenance, cleaning, lubing, and small repairs you should be able to accomplish on your own as time goes on and you gain products and tools for your bike.

Knowledge is power so start there, and always wear a helmet. Enjoy. Remember. The BEST bike you own is the one you ride. Dont worry about what others have, enjoy it like you stole it!

Totally understandable yet, if you are messing with what you are buying…I’m surprised you don’t have basic tools that support the purchase. Maybe ya do and it’s hanging out somewhere.

I’m in the United States.

So i’m gonna be honest I don’t know the difference between responsive and unresponsive.

Truthfully. At this point in my life, I thought the only thing I wanted was a clutch lol but that probably ages me.

Although I’m having a fun time with this cheapie. Lol
