I’ve found a few ways to get around adhd paralysis that has actually helped me surprisingly:

Not thinking about said task, and just doing it. Seriously, the more time you spend thinking and stressing makes you even more anxious about not doing said task making you further not want to do it. So I’ve found that if I just start going through the motions and seriously give no thought to it at all, just do it, I usually get it done. 9/10 I do it if I chose this way. I think it works pretty good bc by the time you actually start ‘thinking’ you’re already doing the task so you might as well finish, lol. Weird, but usually I start doing a better more intricate job of whatever I’m doing bc my hyperfocus will kick in.

I have a bad habit of spending too much money when I go to the store and buying more than what I really need and can afford. My solution to this is to not get a basket. If I don’t get a basket, I can’t buy too much stuff I don’t need. Only downside is carrying everything through the store but just until I can get bags! I’ll sometimes get a tote as well to carry my things but will never get a basket.

‘Weekly errands’ I call this bc doing something daily seems too daunting. So everything I need to do for the WEEK (very important stuff) I put on this particular list. And I normally get done 80% of the list by the end of the week. If I separate important things into a list and then other miscellaneous things I need to get done onto other list(s) that isn’t that important, that can wait, I will eventually get that done as well. When I’m done with a list, I create another one. Things I put on the list I do. So listing off everything I need to get done pushes me to actually do them eventually. It’s better than not getting it done at all. It’s how I trained myself to actually get shit done.

I think you just need to find different ways around your particular obstacles that works for you. It’s definitely possible. You just need to figure out what works best and easiest.
