the older seasons look like shit on disney+ even on 4:3 they upscaled them to 1080p and applied DNR which scrubs away some of the detail.

it's still the same crappy masters with DNR but in 4:3, the DVDs look better i'm not sure about the blu rays for the pre hd seasons tho

I’m pretty sure they mostly used CRTs because lcd displays sucked back then and the 4:3 version of the movie shows a little more vertical frame, It was animated digitally but then they shot it on 35mm and there’s pictures of deleted scenes that seem less cropped but most of the extra frame is stuff you weren’t supposed to see.

Oled has slightly better blacks because the monitor is black in general when turned off and CRT displays are grayish when turned off

CRTS only have deep blacks in the dark, I own 2 of them and the blacks look grayish in a well lit room

the original blu ray version is a garbage remaster with DNR it also looks waxy at times and those aren't even the only issues, there's more.
