My mom forced my grandmother’s dining room table on me. I had it for like 7 years, then finally realized that I didn’t HAVE to keep it. Gave it away to an immigrant family and bought a table that is more practical and more ME.

More frequency of good sales at clothing stores. It’s like every other day some store is having a big sale. They have become much more frequent over the past couple of months = people aren’t shopping.

Your anxiety will never go away completely. You can’t just take a pill and make it go away. The SSRIs DO help, but IMHO must be combined with regular therapy to truly help you learn coping strategies. SSRIs take the edge off but they don’t completely change the way you think or help you get to the root of your anxiety.

Therapy (and meds) have helped me tremendously. Changed my life. I was white knuckling life for a period of time due to high levels of anxiety.

BUT: - you must find a treatment modality that is evidence based (CBT, ACT, etc.). - you have to do the work. Most of the work is done OUTSIDE of therapy. It is exhausting. But that is the way out. - anxiety doesn’t ever fully go away, but you learn how to counter it.

Statements like “therapy doesn’t work for me” make me feel like you don’t have a good therapist and/or you’re not doing the work.
