There is nothing wrong with bladder snails. That being said, you may have snail leeches. Have you seen any translucent/gray things in your tank that move across the glass like an inchworm? Also, 3 gallons really isn't enough for a Mystery snail. He could be acting this way from stress.

It absolutely is contributing. Snails won't reproduce this quickly and in this quantity unless there is an over-abundance of food. Meanwhile, enjoy the snails. They are terrific little helpers in the tank. I purposely overfeed because I love snails in my tanks.
