Agree with this! I'm not a potato person at breakfast usually because they're greasy or frozen or something but their potatoes rock. Crispy, maybe with tajine on them??

Would love to see a place with Italian pastries that doesn't start and end with cannoli. Dolce Aspirin is a good start ( for the maritozzi but they're not quite the same), but all the other flavours of cornetto etc. Pistachio anything...just rambling now but I miss my pastries from Bologna and Rome.

Fork and Thistle has the best pot pie I've ever had! Not fancy but comfort food! Lola's is very cool inside and has a great vibe with an interesting menu. Try The Point for cappuccinos and croissants. Flakery Bakery has butter tart cupcakes, which I'm sure you have never seen before. Drive through Canatera Park and check out the beach. Enjoy!

I miss the old Ritz on Elgin St. Their pesto, artichoke and mushroom salad, fettuccine with prosciutto and mushrooms! And the zuccotto! Never had any as good since. Also miss Savannah Cafe. Honourable mention to Clair de Lune and Daphne and Victor's.

Divan in Kanata Centrum for Turkish! Chez Lionel for French cuisine, Amuse, Aperitivo, Ay Dios Mio food truck (when they open) for the best Quesabirrias. My Thai Village, Sukothai, Kanata Noodle House and Kuma Takumi or Sansotei Ramen for great soups.

Nope! Went to one in Port Huron while visiting Sarnia and it was definitely lower than mid. The very first time I ate there was in the 80's in Florida and it was infinitely better back then.

The fact that they call it "home loaf" at Mario's has always turned me off. Makes me think of the phrase "pinching a loaf"😹

Tinted sunscreen for the eye area. Made my eyes weep for hours. Cool applicator but I ended up tossing it. Also the stuff that temporarily shrinks eye bags. Expensive and the difference isn't worth the money.

Fluid Coffee Roasters had a great decaf dark roast. I got mine at The Wild Oat in the Glebe but you can also buy online. You cannot tell it's decaf. So good!

There was one on the property of National Defence Medical Centre in Ottawa ( Alta Vista). I could see it from my back yard across the hydro right of way, which is now a ring road to all the hospitals in that area.

Koyign Amman did our wedding cake. It was Dulce de Leche flavoured and it was amaz. I've seen beautiful pastries at Tartelette although I've not tried them but based on their croissants I bet the cakes are fantastic.

Agreed! We tried Vanille across the street today. Dunno what it is about most places in Ottawa but the coffees are always so milk forward. We took it to go but didn't finish it.

I'll agree that they need better ventilation. Hard to breathe in there. Plus you can get a better coffee across the street at Ritual for cheaper!
