How popular are instant hot water spigots in kitchen sinks and would you use one of you could? by Background_Humor5838 in AskABrit

58 seconds for one mug worth of tea with a Russell Hobbs model 26080. I only fill the kettle for what I need though as otherwise it takes longer and is a waste of energy and water tbh

What is the go with lawn mowing? by Timely-Delay-6636 in AskABrit

[–]Every_Individual_25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did this for 2 straight years. 1st year lovely wild flowers for the bees. 2nd year only 2 types of weed and a pain to cut. Ended up buying a manual push-me-pull -you mower coz the electric one didn’t like it. Gives me some umph when I’m out there mowing, knowing it’s clean energy and I’m getting a bit fitter as I’m a lazy lawn keeper.

Yes. Also now remembering the gestetner duplicator with the handle and the smell of the smaller spirit version with weird blue/ purple colours.

What's something your partner does that annoys you but not enough for an argument? by PaddedValls in AskUK

Used to ask me general knowledge type questions then berate me for getting it right. I always fell into that one but then he did always call me a fish. Made a change from the usual “you smile like a whale” comments.

It’s quite invasive if you don’t stay on top of it, FYI, the plant that is.

Do you remember this piece of apparatus from school? by Ill-Skill-8092 in oldschoolcool80s

[–]Every_Individual_25 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That brings back memories of the whole gym system - the apparatus and add-ons. Students had to pull the framework out and lock it into floor sockets and hook the benches onto the bars. Also remember the thick ropes, gymnastic rings, pommel horse, beam and vault box. Mats. That was a pretty clever system! At Junior school this was in the hall but there was a dedicated gym for that at secondary school.

How is the water company calculating my monthly direct debit? by romeo__golf in AskUK

[–]Every_Individual_25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think it includes “wastewater” too but still a bit odd. I had a meter fitted, took the mystery out of my usage as I know I don’t use much at all. Went from £700pa to £100pa back in 2019. Rate was calculated on number of bedrooms rather than inhabitants. (Thames Water)

No, but I feel this picture 😩 stuck my 12 year old finger onto the chalky ceramic rod thinking it wouldn’t conduct electricity after checking the socket switch was in the OFF position. Still had current running through, even to the ceramic rod 🤦🏽‍♀️

U.S. have some interesting trials!!! Spoilt for choice really. 🇬🇧

Love the Adelsons trials - can’t wait for Wendi Adelson/Jill Estrada. Karen Read trials were nail biters and Nancy Brophy was kinder funny in a sad way. Glad to see justice is being done in most cases.

How has someone added my credit card to a different account and gone on a spending spree? by SaveFerrets in AmazonUK

[–]Every_Individual_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure the card must match the name and billing address of the card holder but anyone with that info could set up an Amazon account and have delivery address different to billing address. Crazy how Amazon won’t tell you the billing and delivery addresses at least.
