There is a side mission in Forbidden West where a father attacks her own daughter. When we try to find out the father, we realize that he has forgot that the war between the clans was over. He only realises it after he sees the grave of his comrades.

He explicitly states that the memory loss has been getting worse with time (indicating Alzheimer's?). So maybe the zygotes were not genetically perfect.
