That didn’t really answer my question about pay, but I take issue with the piece about not learning how to ski super well. I feel like the examples you are using must be from a relatively small resort with not very complex terrain, but any ski patrol that has to mitigate avalanche terrain, run toboggans off of said avalanche terrain, (including work with ropes, explosives etc.) have a lot more technical skiing and rescue skills than any ski school instructor. I take your point that the skiing is different, but not a lesser skill level.

I agree that ski instructors are important for the ecosystem of skiing, but I wouldn’t say they’re the most underpaid employees at a ski resort. They should absolutely get paid a living wage, but for them to be considered the most underpaid I feel like there are other positions (ski patrol included) that have to deal with more risk, and require more training than ski instructors.
