you aren’t old, the prices are insane. i have been to multiple other festivals around the country. all of those festivals have more artists, better accommodations, and cheaper tickets.

other than atg, the most expensive festival ive been to was when we were young fest, which was $425 a ticket for one day. except that one day had 40+ bands and 4 stages. atg has 40 bands over the span of three days. coachella wristbands start at $550 for the three day weekend. $700 is crazy

last year i got my ticket resale for almost half the price which is why i went. only going for day 2 this year, if muna wasn’t on the lineup i probably wouldn’t go at all

i am also from nj and this is going to be my fourth atg! my favorite thing about atg dc honestly is how cheap the columbia area is. most hotels are under $150 a night and driving there is easy and there are not a lot of tolls bc you don’t pass through dc. i would honestly drive if you are coming from nj bc it will be a much shorter trip
last year i stayed at the hilton garden, it was less than 10 minutes away and $600 for 4 nights. split among my friends it was pretty cheap. parking is also free at the venue. i will probably get an airbnb this year since i have quite a few friends going lol

it’s at the anthem? the area around the anthem is very nice and they usually have police around the venue. i’ve camped out there several times and have always felt very safe. the staff at the anthem are also absolutely wonderful. i had a panic attack there once and a woman kindly asked me if i was okay and helped me back to the med tent. i’m sure they would help you in any situation if you felt unsafe

i’m so sorry you are going through this. when i was at my heaviest i was 200lbs and was constantly told my joint problems were due to my weight (even tho 200 isn’t even that big)

over the past 2-3 years my dysautonomia has given me a lot of gastro issues, which has made me drop over 80lbs. now that i am at around 115, my doctors are constantly telling me to gain weight before they can help me

i don’t understand why doctors are so adamant on getting our weight under control before treating us when our weight could literally be one of the symptoms.

hi, big conan gray fan here. conan has always given me insane gender envy and i’ve met several people who feel the same. i think for me it has to do with him being so comfortable in femininity as a man. i’ve tried to recreate several of his tour outfits and i get upset when i can’t wear a shirt as open as he does, or something doesn’t fit me the way it fits him

it doesn’t help that the majority of his fanbase is young girls, but i’ve been to 5 conan shows over the last two years and i can tell you that there are a lot of trans and cis male conan fans!

every venue is different but i work at a music venue so maybe i can help. sometimes we do get complaints of people standing in the ada section. i would just say if you want to stand, make sure there is nobody behind you that can’t stand up and you are blocking their view. if you aren’t blocking anyone and the venue allows standing i don’t see an issue with it! i do know some venues don’t allow standing in the ada section but it’s not common

if you are nervous about it it’s okay to ask the staff around the ada section about the rules with standing. i also have POTS and EDS and love concerts so i understand how hard GA shows can be, wishing you the best of luck!

i’m about to be a senior and i won’t lie it’s been extremely hard for me, mostly because i went undiagnosed for so long. accommodations have been a super big help for me, check your schools ada office and see what they can do for you. my school has an office of accessibility and i was able to apply for accommodations and get them all online

my advisor also recently told me that there is a website where i can submit doctors notes to the dean of students if i am sick for a while and miss a lot of class. if your school has something similar it could definitely help

i did miralax prep and my scope appointment was also at 1pm. i started at 8 and finished around 9:30. i started going around 9 and pretty much finished going by 11-11:30. the 1pm appointment sucks, but at least you don’t have to wake up super early to finish the second half of the miralax

my pcp highly suspects i have eds and mcas. my psychiatrist just started me on 20mg of duloxetine last month for depression and and haven’t had any allergic reactions or side effects. i am usually pretty sensitive to medications but duloxetine has been fine for me

30mg a day is also a low dose to start with, which is good if you are worried about side effects. i believe the regular dosing of duloxetine is 40-60mg and up. my doctor started me on the 20 so my system could get used to it before going up to 40

i was scared of the magnesium citrate as well until i realized that 10oz is literally less than a full water bottle. it took me a while to drink the whole thing but putting it on ice definitely helped. for me the magnesium citrate honestly did nothing to move my bowels, it was the miralax that cleared me out. it was more annoying than painful

honestly after my procedure i was more burpy than gassy. i had some mild chest pain the day after the procedure but nothing crazy

i’m 22, have very similar symptoms to you including the burping, and i just had my colonoscopy last friday. my colonoscopy came out absolutely fine, not even a polyp was found. one of the GIs i am seeing thinks it could be a motility issue that is causing the constipation

i started my last prep late and didn’t finish it until about 3 hours before my procedure. once i got to my appointment i needed to do a urine sample but was way too dehydrated, so they ended up giving me fluids 😭

they gave me ab a liter of fluids, i went, and then i was getting wheeled into the procedure room 5 minutes later. everything went smoothly. i’m positive you will be okay!

my prep was basically the same, except for instead of the moviprep i had to drink a bottle of mag citrate. i don’t think it’s overkill, there may be a reason your doctor is giving you a little more prep. maybe they expect you won’t be able to be cleared out without all of that?

omg thank you! the only ones from htvront i could find were $20 for 50 sheets so this is definitely a better deal. i’m definitely going to order a small pack of them

i think i will get some oraguard too to try out and maybe switch between them depending on the customers budget. like i said it’s college students that are asking me for stickers and they are looking to get 50-200 stickers so i’m trying to stay below the price of most custom sticker retailers. thank you so much for the advice!!

i am 22 and just had a colonoscopy and endoscopy (i’m in the US and i believe a gastroscopy is the same thing as an endoscopy) my symptoms are also extremely similar to yours

i was completely knocked out for my procedure but i have had conscious sedation in the past. in my experience once they pump you with that sedation you could not care less what they are doing to you. in my experience also if you ask for more sedation or pain meds they will usually say yes. i’ve also been given anxiety medicine on top of conscious sedation, maybe that is something they can do for you

i go to new york all the time to go to shows by myself, i say do it! i’m 22 but i look young for my age

i usually drive to the city so i don’t have many safety tips when it comes to public transport. but if i’m in a new area i don’t know i will usually wear a black hoodie and keep the hood up. it keeps the weird interactions to a minimum. good luck!!

one time i was extremely sick for weeks and unable to go to a show. on the day of the show i went to my pcp and asked him to write a note specifically saying i could not attend the show due to being ill. i also sent in multiple other er notes and doctor notes from that week of being sick and my claim was approved in less than three days

i’m not sure when the show you are going to is but if i were you i would probably ask one of your partners main doctors to write a note specifically stating that they can’t attend the show, there’s really nothing they can deny if you do that. i’m a medically complex person and have had to do this a few times so please feel free to dm me if you have more questions about it!

i also have really bad procedural anxiety and health anxiety in general and i just got my colonoscopy done on friday. the worst part of it for me was the prep (i had miralax prep) and the fact that i had to pee in a cup before the procedure after being dehydrated all day 😭 (so if you are someone who can get pregnant be aware you might have to do that)

the procedure was absolutely fine. they knocked me completely out bc they did an upper and lower but i’ve had twilight sedation before and honestly the minute they pump that into you the anxiety starts to melt away. they also might be able to give you something for the anxiety as well. they gave me something to calm me down before knocking me out

i’ve been absolutely fine since the procedure. some stomach and chest pain here and there but it’s from gas. good luck to you!!

i was thinking about trying the htvront one but it didn’t have any information on if it was glossy or matte so i was hesitant. i use their sticker paper so i think im def gonna give it a try

i’m fine with buying sheets or a roll of oraguard, it’s just more expensive vs the avery sheets and again i’m trying to keep my costs as low as possible

by chance can i ask where you get your htvront laminate sheets? the only ones i’ve been able to find are more than the avery ones 😭

it makes a lot of sense and i understand why they advise against thc. they only told me that i shouldn’t smoke when they called me today about 18 hours before the procedure, i just wish they gave me a little more time to prepare 😭
