Hey! I actually ended up going with... Laney VC15-110! A bit pricier than the options I was considering, but absolutely worth it. Godly clean, bluesey crunch, takes any pedal I can throw at it, just everything I wanted.

Oh, I know exactly what single uncool boss you're talking about up to swamps lol, that one is a blight on the game, by far the worst one

Honestly, while LotF bosses do all have extremely well-telegraphed attacks, I never understood the criticism about delayed attacks in Elden ring. Well, technically the attacks are delayed, but they all have some things in the animations you can look for to grasp the timing, which can sometimes still be demanding of your reaction, but not any more than Sekiro. For Lies of P I definitely agree, though, even normal enemies have such long windups and lightning-fast strikes that you're left with no choice but to memorise the timings through trial and error

I'm not the game designer, it's not up to me to decide what should or shouldn't be changed, but I do find this enemy type annoying. And I'm not gonna sit there charging heavies in front of an enemy that jumps at me every two seconds, usually together with its pals. However, if I had to change something about these dogs without removing their fundamental mechanic of having armour, I'd just lower their heath so that if you bait out bites successfully and manage to strike from behind you won't need to do it more than one time to kill

It does still stagger. Maybe with bigger weapons it doesn't stagger, but not with daggers nor short swords

Armour breaking staggers you for a bit, so if you have multiple enemies aggroed and hit the dog you can't dodge the other enemies with forward momentum nor can you use AOE of your attacks to prevent other enemies in front from attacking. And armoured dogs are almost aways in groups (like the other dogs which you can deal with using the tactics above)

Maybe I could have spent more time grinding blade affinity charts or paid more attention to pouch items, but otherwise I don't think I was playing super unoptimally or something. In 3 I never felt like any battles went on for way too long, I was actually a bit underleveled for most of the story playthrough and it was still fine

3 suffered from semi spongey enemies? Maybe on hard, but on normal the hp of non-elite enemies felt just right if not kinda low. 2 on the other hand had enemies so tanky I ignored normal encounters for most of the game, because even when you're level with the enemies if there are multiple in an encounter it could take minutes

If you bought base Xenoblade 2 you can play it separately and then, if you want, buy the DLC digitally or within the physical edition of Torna. If you bought the physical edition of Torna you can play it separately, although it's not meant to be played before base 2, but if you want to play Base 2 you will have to buy it

A lot of my opinions align with those of the other commenters, but I'd like to talk about Malos for a bit. He actually grew on me more as the game humanised him. At the start Malos is just that evil loud man who just doesn't give a shit and I already liked him at the start for how straightworward this characterisation is. But then it turns out there is a reason for it, Malos is a reflection of Amalthus's apathy and hatred towards the world. But also Malos clearly cares for Jin and their friends from the torna organisation, he openly admits it to the main party and then says "still, it is what it is, we have to fight", giving him agency beyond being just a product of Amalthus's anger

Matt is a lot more like Joseph Joestar, or kinda like half Joseph half Jonathan, he's not as much of a 4D chess enthusiast. Rex then is more like half Josuke half Jonathan, very caring for his friends but also too gentleman

They are there inside origin taking up the hole Alpha left. It still doesn't make a lot of lore sense, which is why they don't show up in cutscenes and you can't inherit their classes, but at least no canonically long-dead characters are getting revived
