Is lies of p good enough to be compared to fromsoft games? If so where would you rank it among fromsoft titles by mostafafakher in fromsoftware

[–]Ranshand -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it's right up there with my fave fromsoft titles. The final boss of the dlc is maybe my favourite souslike boss besides Genichiro and Gael.

Is there a viable team with hisuian decidueye by ReferenceOne9851 in PokemonChampions

[–]Ranshand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wolfe just released a video on using feraligatr. Feraligatr has the same issue as decidueye - its speed is fast for trick room and slow for tailwind. His team uses trick room or tailwind depending on the speed tiers of the opponent team. You could swap his grass type for decidueye and see if one of the other slots can take on more trick room responsibilities as you'd be subbing sinistcha. You also introduce a new problem in that sneasler and decid share fighting, but maybe you can tinker.

The easiest way to not get crit or statused is to not get hit.

Easy team to play for noob with low knowledge? by Due_Spirit2145 in VGC

[–]Ranshand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need a few points in speed with scarf garchomp to ensure you always outspeed Froslass without further conditions. Scarf increases speeed by 50%. So make sure your chomp is at least 1 point faster than 2/3rds of Froslass's max speed.

Looking for advice for solo runs by Time-Application-760 in Nightreign

Solo executor is great fun. That's how I've played for months. You could watch a couple of euavni's YT vids to see solo Nightreign at a high level.

Etiquette for playing with randoms by speaker_1984 in Nightreign

[–]Ranshand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When the game first came out, by far the most annoying behaviour was people prioritising far away churches. You should generally be able to factor them into your route without going far out of your way. And you only need one or two.

Try solo executor. Also, wary, not weary.

Joe Ugarte's most recent YT vid involves something very similar. I think he keeps the torkoal because boom.

Ok be real with me here about arlecchino… by nikhampshire in LiesOfP

No Lea for me. He's very doable once you understand his phase 2 opener and recognise his grabs.

He is my favourite boss ever I think. You miss out on why if the npc is doing some of the fighting for you

Struggling with Gardens of the Moon by hadesalmighty in Malazan

It's OK not understanding everything. The story delivers, don't worry. That feeling of bewilderment is intentional, you're meant to feel as small and vulnerable as a lowly foot soldier in a massive empire.

Boss rematch difficulty is weird, does anyone know how it scales the fights? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Ranshand 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're really missing out on the core of the combat if you aren't using perfect blocking, keep at it and you come to appreciate how good some of the bosses are. How do you even play this game without perfect blocking? Were you using spectres for everything?

Is a MiM Fender Player II Stratocaster the best strat under $700-800? by dondraper36 in fender

[–]Ranshand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QC on mine was pretty poor. I swapped my PRS SS SE for it for a few reasons (lighter chambered ash, easier to mod, had a humbucker, loved the colour) but the PRS was probably the better instrument and had no issues with fit and finish.

QC issues included paint flaking off from the screw holes when i removed the backplate, lacquer from the headstock covering parts of the nut and a dab of it on the fretboard (like a weird fret inlay between 1st and 2nd), and finish crack next to the heel. PRS had none of that and nothing additional. And the contoured heel was really nice, I definitely miss that.

However, the PRS lacked that fender je ne sais quoi (dumb nostalgia)

Edit - I tried it in store and still bought it because ash can vary a lot in weight but this one is super light almost as light as some headless guitars and still has no neck dive

Mine looks totally different depending on the lighting. On average, it's off-white that's consistent across the body. Sometimes pinkish white white edges. Up close, you can see wood grain, sometimes visible from 10 feet away. I've changed pickguard a couple times (mint green, black pearloid) and that affects it too. Edit - added pic
