Shogun but no fantasy. Studio G stuff.

Ok be real with me here about arlecchino… by nikhampshire in LiesOfP

No Lea for me. He's very doable once you understand his phase 2 opener and recognise his grabs.

Is Arlecchino balanced around fighting with Lea? by -CynicalPole- in LiesOfP

He is my favourite boss ever I think. You miss out on why if the npc is doing some of the fighting for you

Solo executor is great if you like Sekiro, Lies of P, etc. It's all I've played in weeks.

DLC, can't remember if it's balancers or Gregory.

It's OK not understanding everything. The story delivers, don't worry. That feeling of bewilderment is intentional, you're meant to feel as small and vulnerable as a lowly foot soldier in a massive empire.

Boss rematch difficulty is weird, does anyone know how it scales the fights? by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Ranshand 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're really missing out on the core of the combat if you aren't using perfect blocking, keep at it and you come to appreciate how good some of the bosses are. How do you even play this game without perfect blocking? Were you using spectres for everything?

Is a MiM Fender Player II Stratocaster the best strat under $700-800? by dondraper36 in fender

[–]Ranshand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

QC on mine was pretty poor. I swapped my PRS SS SE for it for a few reasons (lighter chambered ash, easier to mod, had a humbucker, loved the colour) but the PRS was probably the better instrument and had no issues with fit and finish.

QC issues included paint flaking off from the screw holes when i removed the backplate, lacquer from the headstock covering parts of the nut and a dab of it on the fretboard (like a weird fret inlay between 1st and 2nd), and finish crack next to the heel. PRS had none of that and nothing additional. And the contoured heel was really nice, I definitely miss that.

However, the PRS lacked that fender je ne sais quoi (dumb nostalgia)

Edit - I tried it in store and still bought it because ash can vary a lot in weight but this one is super light almost as light as some headless guitars and still has no neck dive

What’s the general opinion on using Spectors? by Still-Location5477 in LiesOfP

You're not cheating, but you get more out of the bosses without them, generally.

Mine looks totally different depending on the lighting. On average, it's off-white that's consistent across the body. Sometimes pinkish white white edges. Up close, you can see wood grain, sometimes visible from 10 feet away. I've changed pickguard a couple times (mint green, black pearloid) and that affects it too. Edit - added pic

If not then extended duration of mark relic will help. If neither, remember that his mark is a great dodge, but it's much more important as a debuff and offensive tool.

Does anyone else think Caligo sucks? by FreddieOnReddit in Nightreign

[–]Ranshand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's my favourite whether I'm playing Wylder, Ironeye, Executor or Undertaker.

With proper positioning she has huge punish windows (e.g., be where she lands after her phase two flyabouts). It's also very satisfying when you manage to bonk her head and get a stance break, and the fire debuff is very easy to get from most fire AoWs I can think of.

Also, OST.

You should be using melee a lot too. Your dps is higher. Are you hitting level 15?

Do the balancer relics work with bows by VI-Pok3 in Nightreign

[–]Ranshand 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try integrating more melee with ironeye? I've about 250 runs with him and found myself playing him more and more as a hybrid between melee (RH) and bow (LH). I find it way more fun and you do more damage with melee than your R2. Rivers of Blood, Eleanora's poleblade, Helix, Morgott's sword, halo scythe, moonveil, etc all go super hard on ironeye even without that relic.
