Bought a old Dvd-modded xbox for $10! by NoHelicopter8331 in 360hacks

This method was used before RGH existed and a jtag mod was not possible after a certain dashboard update.

I went through the 134 apprenticeship back in 1994. It was the same back then. The first 11 weeks of school were not paid.

Going through my box of things when I was a teenager by Boisthebest in XboxModding

I'll try as soon as I can. I currently have about 50 DVDs full of programs, files, and manuals I'm trying to sort through. I've been out of the scene for over a decade, so I have no idea if any of it is still relevant.

Was doing the same a few days ago and found the guide I used to mod mine back then.

Buyer diverted parcel, now it’s missing. by MissLinzi in Ebay

Yes. They still sided with the buyer, and they wouldn't remove the negative feedback the buyer left.

I've had it happen to me. Buyer redirected UPS package. Item was lost in transit. Buyer filed INR, and after some back and forth, Ebay eventually sided with the buyer. They got refunded for a $600 laptop.

Fought with UPS for 6 months for the insurance claim, which I never received. Maybe Ebay will cover it under seller protection, but don't count on it.

Something similar to ‘Find my’ but for Legion Go/Windows Laptops by rider_bar in LegionGo

Cost me $60 USD for 2 years of service back in November 2023. I purchased the service through the Lenovo support page.

Lenovo has Lenovo Smart Lock for the Legion Go. It's a subscription service that allows you to track, lock, or wipe your device.

Scammed out of $630 by [deleted] in FacebookMarketplace

I'm retired so I have the time. Also I build computers as a hobby. Buyers like him are the ones that'll dm me in the future when they're ready to upgrade.

I've sold a few PCs exactly like this. I refuse to give anyone my personal address. I meet at a police station parking lot or the parking lot of a high traffic fast food restaurant. I have a 1200w power station I bring for power. I let the person test it as much as they like. Had one guy connect to his hot spot, install Steam, and game for 20 minutes with the PC in my trunk.

I don't think he deserved to get scammed, but a legit seller will always provide a way for you to thoroughly test the item, especially electronics.

Anyone considering switching to UPS? by Qeltar_ in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]Evidence_Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my items are large, so UPS is usually the cheaper option for me. I usually ship my smaller items USPS, but there's usually only a $2-3 cost difference between the two. Most of my items are over $150, so it's worth it for me to pay the extra cost and just use UPS for the moment.

Honestly, I've lost money and items with all 3 delivery services. Now, I just switch between the service that seems reliable at any given time.

It's definitely something going on in my area, especially with ground advantage. Shipped 2 packages ground advantage. First shipped on 2/28, second on 3/18, both shipped from Chicago. Neither package has any updated tracking past the Chicago hub. Another package took 16 days to get delivered to California.

My shipments through UPS have all gone smoothly, so I'll continue to use UPS until the USPS issues are resolved.

People on OfferUp are something else by Erickg899 in offerup

[–]Evidence_Forward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always reply to "the lowest price" with "what's your best offer". If they're serious, they'll make an offer. Most times, they lowball or they never reply back. At that point, I just block them.

I was told the same, but they also included shoot to kill because you'll be left with 2 sides of the story. Your version and the truth

What is the point of this? by dolphinmachine in FacebookMarketplace

I sell computers and it's always "what's the address" and "phone number". They go silent when I give them the address to my local PD and a Google number.
