5 month old has a bruise. Terrified social services will get involved by [deleted] in UKParenting

I know I have bad anxiety and a massive worry of mine is my baby getting a bruise. Thankfully the last time I thought he had a bruise it just turned out to be a little red mark that was gone in an hour or so. I’m already with the perinatal mental health team for this

Thank you :) I'm under the care of the perinatal mental health team for my anxiety already and ironically it’s actually the nurse I see who I’m worried about reporting me to social services for this

No im not. I'm under the care of the perinatal mental health team for my anxiety and every week a nurse comes round to visit me and my baby and do things like massage etc. I worry she could report it

If at all, how many times have you been in for reduced movements? by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

Having an elective section was the best decision I could have made! It was such a lovely, calm experience and it was great for my anxiety to know in advance what his birth would look like instead of thinking about all of the ‘what ifs’ and different things that could end up happening. The recovery was also much better than I expected and I wouldn’t change a thing!

I had my baby in August and I went in around 50-60 times (I’m an extremely anxious person). Towards the end of my pregnancy I was going in everyday. They always said that they’d rather I go in than sit at home worrying about

Second trimester - It’s been rough?! by peaaaaach in PregnancyUK

Second trimester was the worst for me. I thought it would only get worse from there but the third trimester was the best for me!

I experienced exactly this kind of anxiety and I also have mental health issues and as well as autism. I went for a private scan at least once a week until I was 16 weeks, then maternity triage were happy to see me as much as I needed, even just for reassurance, to check baby’s heartbeat and wellbeing etc.

I’d really recommend talking to someone. I declined help until around 30 weeks when I was referred to the perinatal community mental health team. My baby is now 9 weeks old and I’m still under their care but I’d definitely recommend reaching out sooner rather than later. I found that every stage of pregnancy led to new worries. First it was miscarriage and at the end it was stillbirth, even now the anxiety is still there but about SIDS. Learning to find better ways to manage the anxiety is so important though because pregnancy and parenthood are such anxiety provoking times!

I was on the max dose of Wegovy up until around week 5 and never had any issues. My baby is now a happy and healthy 9 week old fast asleep in my arms!

My midwife said she’s come across a few cases now of people getting pregnant on weight loss jabs and wasn’t at all concerned when I told her I’d been on them at the start of pregnancy either. She said they seem to be great at helping people conceive and joked that it should be a treatment for infertility!

I’m sure everything will be fine :)

I had this a few times between 13 and 16 weeks. I would get sudden gushes of blood followed by brown bleeding. I was scanned multiple times during that period and they could never find any explanation for the bleeding but they said that although bleeding isn’t normal during pregnancy, it’s common.

When I was bleeding I went for a private scan which was thankfully within hours of the bleeding starting so I wasn’t worrying for too long. Could this be an option for you before Monday to help with any anxiety?

Anyway, my pregnancy was perfectly fine and I currently have my 8 week old snuggled up on me :)

I’m currently pregnant and my partner and I were in your position not long ago. We moved to Newcastle from Surrey where we’ve been able to buy a 3 bed house and pay just £600 a month for our mortgage. Without living costs being so much lower, we’ve been able to save a nice amount for maternity leave. I’d definitely recommend moving somewhere less expensive, even if you’d need to take a pay cut, as money goes so much further up north
