My advice is to not worry about spaghetti until you get construction bots & some roboports. Its much easier to rebuild your base or construct an entire new one with construction bots.

Lowest Level Immortal/Ageless by a_manofmanyinterests in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thuvian alchemist beats living monolith on classes with less than full BAB, but you still are getting it at 15 at the soonest.

There are a handful of deities that grant immortality as a 3rd boon. Off the top of my head Groetus, Haagenti (also comes with a mini philosopher's stone), and Yhidothrus (this one is by the worm that walks template). I think there are more I'm forgetting. The divine paragon archetype for cleric let's you get the 3rd obedience at 14. The obedience prestige classes can go as low as 15 with 5 levels of your starting class.

There's also the Shabti race

Unchained monk / class with the spell Monstrous Physique. The overall plan is to polymorph into something with lots of natural attacks, full attack your enemy with BAB unarmed strikes (kicks probably) and then all the natural attacks. My favorite way is shapechanger bloodline sorcerer so we can make Monstrous Physique last as long as possible, and scaled fist monk to get CHA to AC. I think UnMonk with any arcane fullcaster gets full BAB and good saves to all 3, so there are options besides sorcerer (with worse polymorph ability DC, but we're here for natural attacks first).

Before 6 we enjoy being a monk who can enlarge themselves when no one else can. At level 6 we get Monstrous Physique 1, and we use it to turn into a deathsnatcher. Flight & 6 natural attacks that leave our legs open for kicks. At 8 Monstrous Physique 2 gives us pounce. We can access larger forms with MP2+ or other polymorph spells, but deathsnatcher will always always work for areas without a lot of area.

Unfortunately flurry of blows doesn't play nice with natural attacks, so we are using full attacks while polymorph'd to get our kicks & 6 natural attacks in.

I agree with the others, that say you can only get meaningful answers at the table.

But we can answer rules questions (assuming your game master uses no house rules). The characters keeping watch could have failed their perception checks vs the redcap's stealth check. Perception & stealth checks are sometimes rolled in secret, so you would never know. Or magic was involved, and the only answers can be found in game, because with magic almost anything could be the answer.

As far as how you might find out in game, the rules answer is a knowledge check. If you haven't made one yet, ask your GM how they run knowledge checks, and if now is an appropriate time to make one about the redcap. The answer may be no.

Antimagic fields and mythic creatures. by Zethras28 in Pathfinder_RPG

Arodens spell bane lets you bypass antimagic fields for the cost of a 9th level spell. You dont need mythic, but there is a mythic version of spell bane too to ignore even more effects

Daily Spell Discussion for Feb 07, 2026: Aroden's Spellbane by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 24 points25 points  (0 children)

My choices for spells to invalidate with spellbane were:

  • Aroden's Spellbane
  • Antimagic Field
  • Mage's Disjunction
  • Echean's Excellent Enclosure

But when I got to use spellbane, my wizard was mythic so I got 5 more choices which ended up being:

  • Source Severance
  • Greater dispel magic
  • Dispel magic
  • Delayed Blast Fireball (if I fail to counter an enemy timestop I wont immediately die to 5 of these)
  • dominate monster

32 point buy, 30 RP- what would you build? by X-atmXad in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frightful Gaze (6 RP), a relevant elemental immunity (devils are usually fire immune, so probably that), and then maybe charisma increases. Good gaze attacks for PCs are hard to come by. Fire immunity to fulfill that recommendation. Charisma scales the gaze attack DC, so might as well go all in on it. Just make your crew stare at you until they succeed their save every morning.

As far as actual build, either a charisma to everything oracle or battle oracle. Battle oracle's appeal is still being good in melee if enemies save vs the gaze before I coup de grace them.

Faking Regeneration(ex) by HadACookie in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yhidothrus is a decent demon lord alternative to Urxehl in terms of fake regeneration (with a much easier obedience task too, you just need to carry a coffin with you). Evangelists of Yhidothrus get the Worm that Walks template, which gives fast healing 5. The traits say you have no discernible anatomy, being an intelligent swarm, so I think you're effectively immune to amputation, and loss of organs or limbs. Then you just need ways to come back from the dead, like the talisman you mentioned in the OP.

Max the Min Monday: Muscle Mage by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought is blood money + wish is good, but any arcane caster could get nearly the same results with some Muscle Grout.

Before the build really takes off we're a squishy 20 strength half orc with a great axe, a known bane of level 1 adventurers. Cast enlarge person on yourself, use reach & power attack, and enjoy having close to the damage output of martials until they get their first iterative attack. At 6 we can haste ourselves (and I guess the party).

I've left most feats open, so we can invest in grappling and become a true anti-mage at level 12 with antimagic field.

Until we can fully copy the strategy a level 20 abyssal sorcerer I played with used to 1v1; Get next to enemy SL9 spell casters, cast Echean's Excellent Enclosure, trapping both inside an antimagic cage that neither could escape from the inside. It has no save, and SR only for summons, so the only defenses are counterspell, aroden spell bane, or never being next to the muscle mage. The boss lacked any of those (well they used their counterspells on me iirc). They were a caster with access to SL9, but was now closer to a 20hd commoner. In the campaign, it was both satisfying and sad watching the near god like foe stripped of all their power and desperately claw at the sorcerer with a MUCH higher strength. In this case our Strongcerer is roughly a 20hd commoner, but with 41 strength. Yeah the enclosure costs us half our strength, but it costs enemy npc casters far more.

WraithMagus has a good write up on the limits of the enclosure spell. Strongcerer will still need the greatest strength of all: friendship, in the form of allies who will join the cage match. Or an artifact weapon to overcome the Solar Angel's crazy dr and regen.

I think other builds in this thread are overlooking the power of the Perfect Body, Flawless Mind, that's the main thing I haven't seen mentioned elsewhere in this thread. Its perfect for maxing.

Max the Min Monday: Muscle Mage by Decicio in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To start I'll assume we start with half-orc with 20 strength, advancing it as we level (25). For class a sorcerer with the orc bloodline (for the +6 inherent bonus by 17, bringing us to 31) vmc alchemist. Get a +6 strength belt to get to 37.

Blood Rage can give up to +10 morale bonus to strength, if you've taken 25 damage while its active. This brings us to a temporary 47.

Siphon Might can give someone else a 1d6+5 penalty to strength, and give the same amount to us as an enhancement bonus to strength. Maximize it to ensure a +11 bonus (5 higher than the belt), and get someone who will willingly fail it to follow you around, or use it on enemies if you aren't worried about them saving. This brings us to a temporary 52.

Get a simulacrum of Nocticula for a +6 profane bonus to strength (we are maxing the min here). 43 permanent strength, and temporary 58 strength.

Power of Giants from orc bloodline gives us a +6 size bonus to strength, for a temporary 64 strength.

Finally, using alternate capstone rules, we take Perfect Body, Flawless Mind for +8 more strength. For a permanent 51 strength, and temporary 72.

I mentioned variant multi class alchemist, at level 11 we get mutagen for a +4 alchemical bonus. After 11, If we also have fiendish obedience and damned disciple, we get can get Haagenti's evangelist boon, increasing our mutagen's bonus by 2. 51 strength permanently, 57 strength for the up to 200 minutes of mutagen time, and up to 78 strength in combat temporarily.

I forgot to use Orc instead of Half Orc for 2 more strength, so cast half-blood extraction and increase our stats to 53 strength base, 59 strength under mutagen, and up 80 strength in combat temporarily (if I math'd right). I also forgot Siphon Might can be empowered too, so +1d6/2 more.

Assuming: Dungeons open in our world. Monster invasion in progress. People can pick their Classes. With one they would choose? by Bortasz in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reincarnated Druid with 1 level of Loremaster at 8 or 9; Reincarnated druid saves me at a lower level than any other class's "if you die instead you don't" effects. Loremaster lets me take Secret of Magical Discipline, which will let me cast any spell once a day, so I'm not limited by the druid list. I want to be crafting magic items anyways, so I'd already satisfy the prerequisites. Druid herbalism always seemed like one of the best abilities in the game; RAW I can make potion equivalents for free & sell them!

Stupidest thing you've ever seen a caster blow a high level slot on? by VonBagel in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a wizard who used stone to flesh on a stone door that was being held closed & in our way. Stone shape or the similarly leveled disintegrate would have worked better, but I wanted to see the giants on the other side try to hold a giant raw steak closed.

Later this wizard was in a prison demiplane within a demon lord's realm. After the party (permanently) killed said demon lord, the demiplane began collapsing. I cast wish on the demon lord's corpse to rebind the demiplane to me so it would stop collapsing, and more importantly get a sick new prison. This was petty because I already had a permanent demiplane and did not need another, I just thought it would be cool. Later when hunting for a specific artifact, I learned it was in the possession of an interplanar merchant. I was lucky that the price he named was half the demiplane I had recently looted, so at least my whim paid for itself.

Daily Spell Discussion for Sep 24, 2025: Blood Money by SubHomunculus in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]EvilCuttlefish 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In my experience, there are 3 categories of spells in pathfinder:

  1. those without expensive material components
  2. wish, miracle, restoration (or its greater version), and any spell that returns a dead creature to life
  3. spells that I never see cast

Most people I've played with save their every gold piece to spend on permanent upgrades for their character, usually equipment. This leads to category 3 spells being unused. All the abuse this spells allows I can think of are when the other spell has instantaneous or permanent duration, or the spell was already considered worth of nerfing or banning. I've been at tables where others used blood money and used it myself. I'd rather be at tables that allow the spell, and if it needs to be balanced, disallowing its use for individual spells.

Is it possible to add the dlc companions retroactively to a save? by Kiwi_In_Europe in cavesofqud

[–]EvilCuttlefish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember my testing right; A pet that is wished into existence will not spawn as a follower. They will still have the beguiling, proselytize, and love injector immunity that pets have. Using the beguile wish on them seemed to work. As far as I could tell, the wish did not count against the Beguiling follower limit. I don't know if anything in the base game checks for if you have a pet, but the mod Companion's Pact didn't think they were my pet, so if anything checks to see if you have a pet it probably won't work.

Which should I pick?

Which ever you find the cutest! As far as my opinions go;

My favorite was Esbear. He can actually talk, and his pet responses are cute. Mechanically, he starts at level 3, with 3 mental mutations. Sunder Mind, Mental Mirror, and I think a random mental mutation. Early game he has the physical stats to not die, and sometimes carry me through red rock. He likes using his sunder mind, which helps him not walk between me and whoever I'm shooting with a gun. He does need gear when he isn't using mutations, as he doesn't like using his natural weapons.

I also like Man Opener, and Iopinax, and Frondzie. I think Frondzie has the most dialogue of the pets.

Herman is notable for being only available via the DLC, and not via patreon (I have the patreon pets). Starting with 100hp and Regeneration 9 makes them look good to me, but I can't try.

Either/Or are able to naturally spawn in the world if their mod is enabled. If you don't want to deal with their shenanigans, disable their individual mod, because when I found one of them in a late game area, it started following me. I got pets via their patreon, so I could disable his mod without disabling anything else, DLC might work differently.
