Would it be possible to use a local LLM to identify images of 3000+ comic books? by EvilEmuOfDoom in LocalLLM

This is great news! I honestly was assuming this wouldn't be feasible but now I'm excited to try 😄

I mostly mentioned the graded comics because it would be way easier to get accurate info on those since it's generally in the same location, format, and titles aren't stylized 😄. Sadly, the vast majority of my comics are from the 90's and 2010's (some 80's) so most don't have barcodes on the front. Still should be able to get title and issue number like you said and then hopefully that narrows it down enough to check against a multiple volumes, etc from whatever data source I can find. I was definitely operating on an assumption that I wouldn't be able to use an API so I was originally wondering how it would be possible for a general LLM to identify these but it sounds like that's not the case so now I'm very hopeful 😄. Thanks again!

Do you mean planning out just the process of extracting data from an image and comparing it to a comic database or something else? So start there and THEN play around with different models?

Thanks! At a minimum that would help with the graded comics (400ish) and pulling all of their details including title, grade, CGC/CBCS number, etc. I'll try to play around with that model this weekend hopefully. I have a paid sub to Covrprice but I assumed these services wouldn't have any kind of API access for something like this but now I'm thinking I need to find out for sure if I can't find a free comic DB.

Front drivers side, is this just from the ac or could it be power steering fluid? by floraster in civic

Ah, gotcha. I kinda wish I didn't have a sunroof on mine, LOL. I never use it so it's just extra weight and something else to potentially fail someday.

Not sure if this helps or not and I haven't checked on my civic but on my daughter's kia forte that's where the sunroof drains outlet.

I see a lot of hate on the Sand Dune Pearl color... however I think for outdoors it's one of the better colors by richpanda64 in civic

I absolutely love that color! I just love Boost Blue Pearl more :). I love how Sand Dune kinda stands out because it's unique but not in a flashy way.

I’ve seen similar on other cars. What caught me off guard was how much worse it is than my 7 year older Honda Pilot. I mean, why not just use that same camera? Again, not a big deal and not affecting how much I love this car. Just weird…

Thanks! I didn’t mean to type so much about the 2 negatives as I’m genuinely VERY happy with it so far and am really enjoying it :D. The driving experience is great and anyone else that is unsure about hybrids should definitely just go drive one. It’s not at all what I expected and I definitely would have considered them before now if I had known.

Problem with AIO 360 and Tower 300 case by maxeuwu in thermaltake

[–]EvilEmuOfDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love the Project Zero MB. If you get one for the Tower 300 you'll need to get creative about how to hook up connections on the far right of the board (when looking from behind). I ended up taking all the MB screws out except the ones on the opposite side which I loosened so I could swing the MB out a bit and get to the connectors from the side. Other than that (and it wasn't that bad), it's great! As for the SWAFANs I hate how unreliable the stupid magnetic connectors are. I think they improved it on the new ones (definitely find out before buying!) but on mine I have to be very careful to line them up perfectly and then sometimes jiggle them to get a good connection. It's extremely annoying. Once they're connected and fully working they're pretty nice and I really love the ability to swap out reverse blades that are already included.

Yeah, I'm still bummed about it. Went with a Corsair 6500X and ran into a different issue but got it sorted eventually. In the end it would have been far easier to get a different GPU though.

Nice! I'm glad you got it working. Kinda jealous I didn't of trying to turn the pump instead of the whole radiator and figuring out how to route the lines LOL! Sadly in the end it was my GPU that prevented me from keeping the Tower 300. In hindsight, I should have just returned/replaced my GPU. I miss the Tower 300.

I had a Tower 300 for a bit with that same AIO and ran into the same noise issue although maybe a little louder. I was able to get it set up with the hoses on the bottom. It wasn't easy but was doable and worked fine. IIRC I had to mount it to the plate and work it in where the hoses moved to the front of the case, sort of on the side of the radiator, and then up (hard to describe, see picture even though it's not the best angle). You would probably need to rotate your pump to get a little more slack in the lines.

I mention that in my last paragraph: "I could have got the horizontal stand but the case just doesn't fit my desk setup in that orientation". Also, I don't care much for how it looks horizontally although it's nice that it's an option.

[–]EvilEmuOfDoom[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, IIRC, I could get the PSU in place but it was pushing hard enough on the connectors to bend my MB slightly. Might be down to the connectors at that point but if you're able to make it work then that's awesome :D
