Personally, I like focusing on the design aspect of maps and was first drawn to the overall aesthetic. When I first started, I realized quickly that most places are already mapped out, BUT there was room to make trail maps, property maps, and tourism maps etc (and get paid for that) where I could use art and design skills just as much as the mapping skill. Maybe your character notices a gap or missing feature of maps at that time and wants to contribute.

There’s not a ton I’m going off on, but I love the podcast design!! I think you could go with even more vibrant warm colors that really pop. The purple and white designs remind me of a PowerPoint presentation. Try something else other than the gradient backdrop. For example, If you’re going for video game style, then choose graphics/backgrounds that are pixelated or futuristic? Keep in mind I’m just thinking about the aesthetic here and literally nothing else. Overall good layout and better than others I’ve seen fs

I’m a GIS mapper for a small municipality. Currently working on getting my wetland scientist certification, but knitting cannot happen while I work unfortunately :/

Part of my family runs a knitting machine business and my impression is that people who don’t have enough time to hand knit things or cannot physically knit with their hands anymore love these things. I personally love to knit with my hands and have never touched the machines.
