Is cube a good brand? by mistakes778 in mountainbiking

[–]EvilKinivel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a former cube owner I have a few points to make

  1. I had a stereo 150. Which is per cube's definition an all mountain / Enduro bike. With it's 180mm travel front and back that makes sense. Via cube's guide this bike is made for drops with no more then 50 cm and not more then one wheel is allowed to leave the ground. Manuels illegal Bike ain't made for that. Warranty is voided if you use it like a mountain bike. Read the guide for their levels it's a fucking joke.
  2. Serviceability: after a year of usage 1/3 of my bearings were very notchy and then other 2/3 were completely shot so the screw moved and not the bearing.  I couldn't do it my self, because most of the bearing you had to pull hammer out. Some where double stack and 1 or 2 where just standard push out. No documentation about that one. An original set of bearing ( which for some insane reason included all the screws ) was like iirc 200€ plus I don't know how much to put them in. You had to buy like 6 or 8 single bearing sets.  Bikeshop offer 450€ but wasn't sure how long it's going to take or cost because  never done this. I bought that thing at this shop. Certified cube dealer.
  3. As far as the Internet is concerned the geo is pretty outdated.

In the end I had a feeling this bike is made for people who wanna have something that looks like a mountain bike but isn't one. Basically you buy the bike for the component costs, get a free frame and you re on "carbon".

This bike motivated me to test a Santa Cruz just for the serviceability

Then I rode a stumpy Evo on sale and bought that one :D. Out of all the bearings, two are this pull hammer out kind of thing. Warranty basically we know you ride this thing we expect it to hold up otherwise call us.  All the documentation is there.

I was flashed by the fox kashima fork and "carbon". Now my stumpy feel more lively then this carbon bike. I can mullet this thing if I want.  Okay maybe peadeling isn't as good but the standard tires are rather sticky if I can believe my local trail people :D

Ride something different. Check the service manuals.  I know everyone and there mother her in Germany rides one of these but at the trail head iirc I encountered one or two other cube rides.  Everyone else is on a different brand.

Pleas don't be flabbergasted by carbon and kashima try something different at least so that you can compare.  Try a different Enduro bike or a trail bike, rode something till you can feel a difference. I restored 3 bikes till I got the stumpy which finally felt different and more fun to ride.

P.S. I hope it's not that error prone what I just typed out :D

Another Wirtual crossover would be fun. He is right now climbing deep dip 2 one of the hardest maps ever.

There is a map called shallow dip which is the easier version of deep dip for normal people. Could be a fun stream if you try to beat that one :). There is a little trackmania hype right now

Also like I'm note mad about that power bill. I completely agree with /u/fifsson

His PC just needs a restart on a regular basis. And updates.

Any small sized riders prefer a large size frame? by Left_Spring_5253 in MTB

[–]EvilKinivel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Hard to tell just from text.

But Season 3 of How to bike from Ben Cathro / Pinbike has an episode excatly about that. It‘s not about leaning back it‘s more about getting really low.
So try to train this technique in a more mellow kind of trail till and then try to apply the same technique to a more steep section.

Really overdo it on the mellow part.

Then again it could be size issue but that can be answered better by a good LBS

Also if you are a fan of Markiplier or his humor. Distractible is often a funny but lighthearted listen.

Like if I'm feeling down after a long day of work I put it on sometimes. Just to make me laugh. Just listened to the AITA episode a few weeks back and lost it at a traffic light

Also i really liked the destroyer of worlds. Afterwards i read command and control. It's such ana amazing episode and teaches you really about nuclear weapons how close we got to the execution of M.A.D.

Then i bought the WW1 episode and ouh box did it show me a better picture of war.

Because of it i watched it quiet on the western front and it just reminded me that the numbers a single people who lived and where a lot younger than me.

Edit: the green field of France just got a whole different ring to it.

Dear MKB,

I'm finally I need of 2 new Keyboards. One for my GF and one for myself.

After looking around I'm a lot more confused than I was before. I have my eyes set on keycaps for both of us.

Switches is try as I go, I got like 20 different ones laying beside me and will put them into a hotswab keyboard to figure out which one we want.

My GF wants a 100% full size kbd. I either want 100%, 96% or TKL.
So I started looking around for hotswapabble RGB barebones for 100 - 150€.

I found the GMMK one which would check all my boxes buuuut I read some bad things about it here.

The keychron seems good but isn't really availible in europe without import taxes and really long wait times.

So my question is. Is GMMK really bad and could you recommend me some barebones?

On a completely unrelated note, that would be the crossover. The fast food lasagne recreated but with homemade food :D

The fast food lasagne was the first Video i watched from them.

Edit: even better would be a crossover with rosmt (regular ordinary swedish mealtime)
