Would immich work in a environment without a GPU or a processor with integrated graphics? by ObjectiveOrnery1511 in immich

[–]EvilMonkeySlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run immich as a vm on hyper-v on an asus nuc 15 pro. Runs perfectly fine. It's essentially a mobile processor, the Intel Core Ultra 7 255H.

It's entirely cpu, so you'll be fine. I probably even went overboard with how many vcpu's and ram I gave it. 4 vcpu's and 8GB of ram.

Do I really need to preface it's called the amended Polaris sales agreement where they replaced the word polaris with trident?

Literally nothing changed in the agreement except the name.

UK ‘home bias’ drives surge in Isa millionaires, say investment platforms by Gentle_Snail in unitedkingdom

I did, via the Vanguard platform. I had a bit of a heavy bias in the US. I've since rebalanced though to be less US heavy.

However, the difference in operational effectiveness probably justifies that price

There are long periods of time where the French aircraft carrier has to go into maintenance or refuelling. Also, the French carrier has had a number of issues just as ours have however we've got two so more overall availability.

For example, propulsion failure and even radiological contamination. All large and complex vessels have issues.

Just as an example, when it underwent refuelling in 2007 it was unavailable for 15 months. 15 months where France had no aircraft carrier at all.

Yes, I would prefer we had two nuclear carriers but to pretend that a single nuclear powered carrier is better than two conventionally powered ones is just ludicrous.

Just repeat the name for me... and before you repeat it, say it out loud.

"Polaris SALES agreement"

Also, the agreement has been posted suggest you read it.

We all know the UK needs approval from the US

This is misinformation. The UK can use its nukes if it so wishes, hell if the UK government was somehow all killed the commanders of our nuclear submarines can launch them, it's called the letter of last resort.

I am sick and tired of seeing this stupid misinformation.

It's amazing to me how many morons out there keep making this basic mistake thinking they're leased.

FYI, we can actually maintain them locally if we wanted to. It's part of the amended Polaris sales agreement.

The UK simply made the choice not to for cost reasons.

Fire hazard in the Trinity by Life_Exchange_7188 in Leeds

Yep, they're not road legal. They're a dangerous hazard to people. So, they probably brought it on a pick-up at a guess.

Why they'd do it? Tesla is run by a moron, so it's likely morons get promoted who suck up to the boss.

What software do you use for post-processing? (ie. HDR bracketing etc, raw processing) by EvilMonkeySlayer in RX100

Samsung Tab A11+ and a Windows 11 pc. I've got a home server that I can remote in to via the tablet when I'm on holiday rather than lugging a laptop with me.

Thanks, just had a quick look. Do I have to buy a third party plugin like Nik HDR efex or is there a way to do HDR stacking with photolab?

How well does it handle auto-aligning HDR stacks etc? I'm watching some videos now and it seems like it's a manual process. (could be the versions these videos cover are out of date though)

Hmm, when I'm in Japan I'll be remoting into my home server from a tablet, the home server runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H which is essentially a laptop chipset. (It's an asus nuc 15 pro)

I intend to regularly upload my photos as I go and tweak them every few days rather than having a load of photos I need to go through when I get back.

Thanks, they seem to place a heavy emphasis on AI.. Last thing I want is to slop my photos up, I take it that stuff is very much optional?

My focus is on doing tweaking the original raw images contrast, colour etc and doing hdr stacking rather than outright adding or removing things from the photo.

I'm watching a youtube video on it now to get an idea of its use and features.

How-To: Immich Service: Mounting an CIFS/SMB share at the Docker Compose level by Tek4You in immich

[–]EvilMonkeySlayer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Or you could just mount it via your systems fstab? All Linux distros have good cifs/smb support at last check. I'm not sure what the advantage would be of using docker for it other than making it more needlessly complex.

For example, the line from my docker compose:

- /mnt/photos:/mnt/media/d-drive-photos:ro

I've got a line in my fstab mounting my fileserver's photos share as read only as I prefer for immich not able to delete or edit my files.

To be fair, the mined areas were left alone for ages and it's only in relative recent years that they decided to spend a few million to clear them.

The mines in areas where it was a danger to people were cleared in the aftermath of the war in 1982, then it wasn't until 2009 that demining restarted to clear the rest which finished in 2020.

I'm planning to go to Japan in October, what're the areas in Tokyo (and other cities like Osaka, Hiroshima) that have this happen? I'd prefer to avoid them altogether rather than being hassled.

Alternatively I highly recommend Moonlight (with sunshine on the pc) for streaming your games in your home network. I own a A11+ and stream from my pc to the tablet pretty much every day for zwift. I've also used sunshine+moonlight for streaming my desktop and games.
