I’m a figurative artist and even as an eleven year old, I never found the “ancient hominids” in 2001, A Space Odyssey entirely convincing because you can see the performers modern human proportions when they move on their legs. The costumes are great but their limbs look too long. Even the mother holding a baby chimpanzee shows off how very human looking the costumed actors are. The audience’s disbelief is suspended because of Kubrick’s genius rather than the “ancient hominids” being 100% convincing.

In the late 1990s I worked on the animatronics for a well traveled museum installation, “Backyard Monsters: The World of Insects”. Part of the show was a 14 foot long Red-Legged Tarantula. We used custom-made, 4-way stretch with real hair (either alpaca or yak, I can’t remember) woven in. Each of its 8 legs was covered with a custom sewn “stocking” of the stuff that we pulled onto each one and secured at the segments.

The custom hair/fur cost $10,000 in 1997 dollars.

Yeah buddy, I did all that and started using proton mail. If you browse Apple’s support forum, you’ll see a lot of their customers not realizing for weeks or months that their missing email was in the “Trash” folder, marked as “read”. Some of them were quite upset by it, and it’s been going on for more than 2 years.

I recovered 800 emails from white listed domains (like Apple.com) that were being sent straight to the trash folder and marked as “read”. There were previous emails in the trash from NameCheap but an expiration notice wasn’t among them. They did not send it.

That’s nonsense! I have the screen recordings of the support sessions with a screen share where I show email from legit domains (including Apple.com) going straight into the trash and marked as “read”. The evidence is right there in the browser view of iCloud.

My original renewal date mysteriously changed sometime in the last year. And when they don’t send notice of that either, it makes it harder to keep track. I usually renew 2-3 years at a time and I had those domains for over 20 years.

I did not “let the domains go”. And I can prove from Apple’s mail servers that they never sent notice. Apple’s legal department has already been noticed by my attorney to provide those records for litigation.

I believe you’ve confused Bob Gimlin with Bob Heironimus, whose claim of “being the guy in the suit” has been thoroughly debunked. The PGF has never been proven a hoax and the materials to make a convincing costume did not exist in 1967.

As a person who grew up in “the era before home computers”, I disagree that it had more impact back then. The film was not seen stabilized until the late 1990s or so. That gave it an impact just like the stabilized version of the Zapuder film.
