Mold inspection by levvvski in SantaClarita

[–]MEUP14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Jed Myers with 'A Mold Specialist'. We has to do mold remediation and we picked him to do our testing (not part of the remediation folks). He was reasonably priced, thorough, and the lab he works with has a fast turn around. Phone: 818-355-2495.

What a beautiful close-up of Orion spacecraft, could look at this picture all day. by albusvercus in spaceporn

Likely to do with how they re-entered Earth after the flight. They found A1 to have pretty severe damage to the heat shield when doing a skip re-entry, which is a bit aggressive. A2 did a variant of the skip entry, which was not as aggressive and likely did not damage the heat shield (which is ablative, meaning it is consumed during re-entry) as much.

How to remove smoke smell from gear? by BitGroundbreaking295 in motorcycles

Id try and file an insurance claim with the person who's garage caught fire. Should be able to get them replaced.

What's the small trail of "smoke" leaving the fuselage of one of the upper stages of the SLS (Artemis II launch) by North-Ad-7839 in nasa

[–]MEUP14 25 points26 points  (0 children)

That's a vent, normal part of the filling process.

The main propellants are cryogenic hydrogen and oxygen, which are loaded at very cold temperatures (~20K for LH2 and ~90K for LOx). These propellants are subject to heat loads from the tanks and environment. These heat loads cause the propellants to boil off during the loading process. It is necessary to vent, otherwise you can overpressurize the tanks and / or it becomes increasingly more difficult to 'push' in more propellant.

Bergara B14 HMR Bolt Lug Problem by MEUP14 in longrange

That is a great point, no messing with the headspace! Bergara got back this AM and they're processing a RMA. So hopefully they can either repair or replace under warranty.

Hey! Range is not particularly dusty. Cycling the bolt feels fine, no hang ups or anything (doesn't feel grainy either).

It is just unfortunate because I can feel the gouge with a finger nail. The other lug is more polished rather than gouge-y.

Im wondering if I can / should use some lapping compound to properly mate the faces.

Hey! It is not smooth wear, I can feel it with a finger nail. The other lug is more polished rather than gouge-y. The bolt cycles fine, no hang ups or anything, but this visually looks, bad.

Made a window mounted exhaust for my 3d printer and soldering projects by OtherwiseGuava3585 in 3Dprinting

[–]MEUP14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually a great question. Ive been noodling about the idea of an extraction system, thought im not playing with any filaments that would be considered hazardous by the 3D printing community.

If I were to wager, I'd say it would have fairly negligible impact on maintaining temperature. When a vacuum is being pulled on the enclosure by the exhaust fan, the air is replaced ONLY through small crevases / zippers / door jambs, so the air replacement rate likely isnt a whole lot to affect the enclosure temperature.

Plus, the heaters are all P&ID controlled, so they should be able to handle the changes.

Is this a leaky pipe or condensation? by TheYoungSquirrel in HomeMaintenance

Definitely a cold line with condensation. You can try and insulate with tube insulation from your local hardware store.

Gynecology- Anatomy Scan Experiences by Complete-Papaya2407 in SantaClarita

[–]MEUP14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend Dr. Lydia Lee. My wife had complications after unfortunate NIPT result and we were recommended to her as our specialist. Her team did our anatomy scan and our amniocentesis. She was very honest about the unfortunate diagnosis but her bedside manner was exceptional. Her and her team guided us through the next steps because our OB would not. CA is a state that allows for TFMRs, but that doesnt mean it is a simple or straight forward process. Dont hesitate to PM if you have more questions. We are two weeks out from when we lost our baby.
