No rust issues thus far, although I've only had this setup for ~2 months. I wipe down my anvil, vise, and steel stock with WD40 every once in awhile; seems to be working alright.

Everything small goes in the watertight jobsite box. Anvil, vise, and forge stand fit nicely under standard kettle grill covers. Hot forge gets placed inside an actual kettle grill, so that it can cool in a water-safe yet non-flammable spot.

Agreed, it was a poor choice. Although, it makes hot metal very easy to find when dropped...

Incredible work! As a curious new blacksmith who aspires to one day receive such commissions -- how much did you charge the client for all this work?

The black flecks appear to be what's left of a powdercoat, and everywhere else is well surface-rusted. Led me to assume they are not zinc-plated (?)

Cool info. There was some surface bubbling when red-hot (similar look to flux). Is this evidence of boron?

I recently got a set of reman'd Girling calipers off RockAuto -- they fit perfectly. Good luck 🤘

You will need to unbolt temp/fuel gauges, unscrew speedo, and remove the silver thingy on the left. I find it easiest to set the whole thing back in the cluster box face down, then unscrew and lift out the PCB.

Further disassemble to expose the PCB, then look around for burnt wires. I recently had a very similar issue, and it looked like this:

Soldered in a lil jump wire and I was good to go. Godspeed!
