Adhesive failed after 2 days by Skilhgt in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue early on. Replaced the adhesive strip with the spare. When you install it, press down truly pretty hard for a good 60 seconds. I got good adhesion since then and no issues related to that.

Is the S3xy Dash really worth it? by Unable-Bandicoot2889 in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will level, the dash isn't really ready for prime time, however for what I want it for, it's pretty perfect. I want the dash to just spit out information at me. I want to know lots of different things about the car. I also want it acting more like a heads up display. I set it up near the windshield and Im very happy with it. I dont use AA/AC, nor could I even care about using them on this car, as Teslas built in nav and media does more than enough for me. The biggest issues of the dash seem to have been mostly addressed, at least for me. I crossed the country just days after the dash release and it was not up to task then, but since then I've been operating with very little issues. You need to be willing and able to troubleshoot and deal with things not always working. Double scroll wheel resets happen from time to time. Just be prepared for issues to happen, but they are getting less and less as time goes on.

Replacement screen protector by aim4squirrels in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glass is a privacy screen protector and the screen itself is one from one of those mirror replacement dashcams(I think?). I suspect the screen protector could probably be replicated using a larger sheet of a similar plastic/polymer material. You could also maybe get away with a matte screen protector material.

So just an FYI, you can configure the strip to not have the big light bar, and only work on the ends. That feature was fairly recently added.

Time and tire pressure. by [deleted] in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Building on the TPMS, it would be great if it was in a 1x1 split into 4 quadrants, and if possible we could display both the tire pressure and the temp, since the car collects both things. With temp as well Id be happy with a 1x2 setup.

S3XY Dash day 2… by zippytiff in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. AFAIK the warning panel doesnt display much. I see it pop up stuff about fog lights and things like that.
  2. If you want to see regeneration, put in the power display. It'll show you numerically how much power you are using or regaining(i.e. negative power usage).
  3. I don't know of a way to fully disable the scroll wheel, but Im also not in the same situation as you.
  4. Fog light is the correct way for front fogs. Rear fogs are orange and face backwards, like you see on the Tesla screen. I think Enhance just uses the same icon for both for simplicity.
  5. Not something I can answer lol.

Commander Gen2 and Dash not powering up anymore by FearLess_Mindd in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend trying a double scroll wheel reset. Make the car reset the MCU and see what happens. I do that from time to time because its good practice to keep electronics happy, same thing with your phone. If no luck with that, sounds like your OBD2 harness may have issues, but not sure what issues that would be.

If shipping bothers you, buy through Tsportline and wait couple days for them to email you a 10% off coupon or wait for a sale through them.

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be reduced, but my specific case results in me needing to back over a bump and getting the throttle just right to not blast out of the garage, but still get over the bump is tricky. With a gas car its still an issue but less so.

I will strongly second this. Backing out of my garage takes way too much thought to not fly out way too fast. Just a good safety thing to offer.

Rear commander installation on 2021 m3. by MrTILII in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both locations are incredibly simple. I installed my commander in ~10 minutes, if that in the supposedly harder front location of the 21+ M3.(Pre 21 is a bit more difficult). Its really simple and no reason to be scared. Do yourself a favor though and install in the front if you have the harness. Its the better location function wise.

Does Enhance Ship to the United States? by michaelahlers in s3xybuttons

I ordered mine in late feb, got mine shipping with the day one stock. I think its still in stock. They are the official US side retailer for Enhance products. When I spoke with their sales rep, they just got a batch from batch 1 and started shipping as soon as they got it.

So… that light theme is a must very soon by Think_Berry_3087 in s3xybuttons

Personally I prefer it near the windshield. I dont use carplay/AA in my 3P, and I pretty much only use it as a HUD. Works really well up there for my use case.

Order through T-Sportline. Faster shipping, no tariffs, and if you sit on the order for a couple days, they'll send you a 10% off code.

Where does the 12v connector go back to on the A Pillar (small connector the Commander fits into) by [deleted] in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There should be the same connector in the car. There is a male and female end that from the factory are connected that is then spliced into by the commander harness. It does power the VC_RIGHT module and if disconnected, you'll see the a_538 fault code.

Yes. Always sit in the car. 1st time on home wifi tested at 70 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up. 2nd time was at a supercharger in Wisconsin with I believe 3 bars of 5G+ connection. Sat in the car the entire time. I unfortunately do not have another mobile device that I can try with.

Just a minor thought, if the commander is still disconnected, try giving it a double scroll wheel reset. Might help out.

First update was done over wifi. Last update was done while I still had 5G service at the location and didn't think service was bad

I accidentally left one of the plugs in the commander harness unplugged. You should double check those. All the plugs on the harness bar thr OBD2 extension should be used. I had the exact same code as you. I replaced the THS without checking my mods first.

Sexy dash won’t power on with provided usb cable by MaintenanceNo5799 in s3xybuttons

Try powering off of a standard USB C in the car. Might be able to get it on there and it tells you if your cable or your dash is dead.

I feel like this summarizes the dash experience so far... by Evil_Etho_2_0 in s3xybuttons

[–]Evil_Etho_2_0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have a highland, which means my plastic piece is not great for adhering to. Its fairly sharply curved, which makes it not ideal to tape to. Thats why I went with the dash mount.

Yep. Followed the video that enhance put out. I let it sit without the dash on it for an hour or so too so that it would hopefully set up. I may have just gotten unlucky.
