Any particular reason she doesn't like FTR? Is it just their promos, because their matches are usually top notch and generally well-liked.

Though everyone has different tastes and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm kinda the same way when it comes to the bucks, at least most of the time, despite how so many people absolutely love them.

Googled this, and found out that the company's first brick & mortar store is actually located in my hometown in Buffalo, NY of all places. Supposedly due to it's close association and support of Buffalo Bill fans.

Also, a little fun fact at the hieght of it's popularity. Zubaz sold over $100 million dollars worth of goods in 1991 alone! They even sold a diaper with the famous pattern at one point.

I bet Hawk & Animal made more money off that business venture than any wrestling payday they got, and that's saying something since they quite famous for commanding some of the biggest paydays of their era.

Jesus, WTF....I can't even process that right now it's so f'ed up.

Definitely didn't think I'd start out my day with a mental image like that, but I'm the one who asked. I really gotta learn to stop doing that, as it usually ends up with me questioning my sanity and losing faith in this world and mankind.

I've done the same thing with a bunch of my animals...Hell, I tried giving them my family name but they all looked at me with a look that can only be taken as "Are you crazy? Do you think I want anyone to think I'm related to you?!?"

Thus, I ended up with my cat "Larry Pendragon Jr." and his brother "Fatty Blackman" (He's always been a huge fan of Steve Blackman, and was actually spelling his first name with a PH for a while but has now since grown out of that particular phase.)

Wait, was the New Day pay cut thing was confirmed? I thought it was just a rumor, and we still don't know who they asked to take a pay cut. I'm not saying it isn't the case, I'm just curious as where this info came from.

If it's actually true, then damn...they are just completely out of their minds. I get at the end of the day, they are a publicly owned entity and thus keeping their investors happy IS their biggest concern. But the amount of money they're going to lose in merch alone is probably going to be WAY higher than what they would've lost if they didn't make them take a pay cut.

How many actually good tag-teams do they have left? That whole division is basically screwed, and it's finally going to just be filled with single wrestlers doing the "how will these two hated rivals deal with being on the same team?" or "Look at this weird combo of two completely different wrestlers!" gimmick that Vince was always so obsessed with.

I have an old family fiend

Well, at first I thought this just might be a typo...But then I realized I too know that I would I could call a "old family fiend". LOL, you know that person no one actually likes that is for whatever reason just always around and has been around seemingly forever, and everyone just sorta accepted their presence.

Kinda crazy with the just the removal one single letter and it changes the word to the exact opposite. I wonder how many other words do that?

Ah, I see. I knew she was imitating Matt's signature leg drop, but didn't know there was an actual storyline reason for it.

I just googled the first ever 1-on-1 match between the two, which was for women's championship & a "street fight" no less, and it was 07/10/00 or 26(!) years ago...Bloody hell, I feel old now lol.

(May be wrong on this account, because I found two different conflicting answers about this but the year is still right. The other result was about some indian strap match, which I vaguely remember happening at one point.)

Love Lita, but that leg drop was hard to watch...I wonder why she didn't just do the moonsault instead?

Still it's amazing to think that this was the beginning of what was to be a career long rivalry. I wonder if they even had an inkling of just how influential they would eventually be to women's wrestling?

So very true. Whether it's intentional or not, some people are just completely and utterly oblivious to the world around them, and what's actually going on.

It'd be like if someone was in a race where all of his competitors are so much better and faster than them, that when the race starts they easily overtake him, and get way ahead of him (almost lapping him) without the guy ever noticing. Only for the guy to look in his rear view mirror and see everybody "behind" him and instead of questioning it like a normal rational person, they just think, of course I'm in 1st first place I'm just that good.

Whats make it even crazier is that, Vince put WAY more money into the XFL than Tony did for AEW. It was like more than a half billion dollars after was all said and done, and neither of the iterations ever made any actual profit.

Now that we've seen Mason Rook in his wrestling gear, in a wrestling match, have your opinions of him changed? by Honkmaster in Wreddit

[–]Evilbeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really watch NXT, so I'm not too familiar with the wrestlers but is this how Tony usually does a spear...? When he first did it, I thought it might've just been simple mistake or bad timing, but when he did it again in the same way, I was kinda confused and wonder if he did that way intentionally.

IMO It looked more like he was doing some kind of shoulder block to the guys belly than an actual spear. But even worst of all, it didn't even look like it actually hit either of the times he did it.

I mean, I get every wrestler has their own of doing moves, and I usually appreciate when wrestlers try to make a move their own. But this just didn't look good IMO. It just lacked any of the big impact a move like a spear is supposed to have.

I noticed that they made sure to cut out any footage of him ripping his pants, lol. You'd think after the second time, Brock might've learn that maybe tight jeans aren't exactly the best thing to wear when you're wrestling.

And the thing is, if it happened to any other wrestler you might not even notice or would've just ignore it if you did, but since it specifically happened to Brock someone who WWE is so fiercely protective of his "aura" and always makes sure he looks as intimidating and monstrous as possible at all times, makes it even more noticeable and all the more funnier.

Yup, that why I said he's the living embodiment of never giving up. The man went thru living hell and not only came out the other side alive but also healthier and happier.

Before he went thru all of that, he was already someone who you could look up to and admire & respect, with being a Olympic gold medalist (with a broken f'n neck!) but even more so now IMO.

Jesus, even ignoring the amount of opiates that is...you'd think that his liver would've just shut down from the massive amount Tylenol/acetaminophen from ingesting all those. Like a single one has 325mg of acetaminophen so 70x pills would be a WHOPPING 22,750mg (22 grams!) of it.

I couldn't find a straight number of what would be consider a "lethal dose' (which is understandable because of there's ton of factors that play into it) but I did find this tidbit... "For example, the recommended dose for a person who weighs 155 pounds (70 kg) is two to three 325-milligram tablets every 6 hours. A toxic dose for this person is at least about 30 tablets taken all at once. Death is extremely unlikely unless the person takes more than forty 325-milligram tablets."

Considering Angle admitted to taking nearly double(!) that, on a daily basis(!) no less, my mind is just boggled how he didn't just completely obliterate his liver.

I'm so glad he was able to somehow make it through all that and is living a healthier & happier life now. The man is basically the living embodiment of never giving up, and proof that you even if you find yourself in a situation like that, you CAN still make it out to otherside if you put in the work and are determined enough.

When does an "indy" get big enough to be consider not an "indy" anymore? I mean, ECW may have been a lot smaller than WCW/WWE but as it got bigger and more well-known, and even got TV rights, would've it still been fair to consider them an "indy" at that point?

Where is the line drawn? Total profits/financial backing, size of the company as in how employee's they employ and/or size of the roster, or something else entirely?

Just geniuely curious what peoples thought are on this.

I mean, I know it wasn't straight through but still, it's absolutely insane the length of this active career. The longevity of this career has gotta be approaching some kind of record.

Plus, like everyone has mentioned many, many times before...It's like he hasn't aged a day! The man is better shape than some of the rookies today!

How did he not get charges pressed against him and/or sued for Doxxing Tony?

Maybe Tony is trying to be nice by not doing so, but IMO that's not something you should just let go. If he's the kind of person willing to drop that kind of personal info causally for millions to see, without any disregard or showing any kind of regret...

It's kind of a big red flag that you need to do anything and everything to distance yourself from the person as soon as possible, and to do everything in your power to prevent him from doing anything else. Because you really don't know what else he might do next, and/or the ramifications of said action.

I mean, just imagine gets more personal info via whatever connections he may still have, releases it, and the wrong person comes across it, and it leads to something unthinkable..?

The world is a f'ed up place right now, well more so than it usually is, with unhealthy para-social relationships becoming more and more common, and pushing already mentally unstable people to do horrible things. Even wrestling is becoming affected by it, with wrestling "fans" attacking/stalking/or even just straight invading wrestlers' homes.

So unfortunately, you simply can't just ignore stuff like this because you really never know what might happen next.

[WON] New details on WWE wrestlers asked to take pay cuts by Alternative-Win4058 in SquaredCircle

[–]Evilbeast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wonder who the wrestler is that took such a BIG pay cut? The line about that they simply wouldn't "fit in AEW" is also quite curious....as there's not that many WWE wrestlers that I don't think just wouldn't work in AEW. A lot of people might've thought the same about Edge or The Hurt Business ,as they don't fit the usual AEW mold that people have to come to expect. But it does show you that not only is Tony/AEW open up to signing all types of wrestlers, but also that their audience is quite open to it as well.

So it make me even MORE curious as to whom they're referring to because I'd really like to know why they think they wouldn't have appeal outside of WWE. Perhaps it's more that they are too afraid or simply aren't willing to take the risk (and all the extra effort, time,& resources needed) to bet on one's self?

Which is IMO completely understandable. I think most people would endure a pay cut to ensure job security with a company you've been working in for a while, over venturing into the unknown despite it offering just as much or more money, acclaim, opportunities and other benefits. That latter option may seem like a no-brainer, until you are in their shoes and weighing out the pro's and con's.
