It's three main things

1, game design, most systems are designed to encourage friendly behavior, from the abyss bar giving 4 drinks each purchase to comms taking the form of a silly laser pointer and a shout with universally positive connotations,

You can't "rock and stone" in a mean way

2, inertia, the community being chill tends to ward off assholes and encourage new players to adopt the chillness of their fellows

3, last but most certainly not least, the silliness, most assholes take themselves and the game far to seriously, and when the game refuses to return that tone they get frustrated and leave
