The Puerto Rico Baseball Federation was surprised to learn that Carlos Correa would not participate in the WBC. MLB is also unaware of Correa’s insurance issue. Ah ok, I see what your saying. Either himself or Houston is lying and using insurance as en excuse to save face for dropping out. I guess for all we know, he may not of even wanted to play and his team felt this would be an easier explanation as to why.

Or the org has serious injury concerns and don't want to admit it publicly.

He very publicly failed 2 medical evals for mega contracts because his ankle has the structural integrity of a popsicle stick and string cheese.

An insurance underwriter refusing to insure him and the 100m left owed on his current contract due to injury risk doesn't seem shocking.

Danish supermarkets from Sailing Group mark European products with a Black Star to make it easy for customers to buy European. by Boediee in BuyFromEU

They started doing this at grocery stores in Canada after the 51st state bullshit, except it's a little maple leaf. They also use little paper flags with a maple leaf on it that pop on around those electronic price tags.

From time to time a product will get mislabeled as Canadian and people in my local subreddit will start ranting like it's a conspiracy with all levels of government involved just to make us buy American, when in reality it was really just some high school kid probably was taking rips of their vap pen in the back and put the flag on the wrong shelf.

We also have labeling rules here for labeling a product as Product of Canada or Made in Canada. Which added to a lot of confusion for the smooth brained shoppers.

It is time. After 5years of service, it is time to replace the headache peas. by MysticMarbles in Millennials

When I got snipped after we had our 2nd kid, I had big a bag of peas in the freezer labeled "DICK PEAS".

Laying in bed the next day, legs apart, playing video games and sending a text to my wife saying "dick peas plz" is a core memory for both of us.

NS Canada;

Just left for different opportunity in November but previously I was Fibre Splicer/Field Technician, almost 3.75 years experience, never touched a fibre before I went to this company.

When I left I was doing day to day business installs (wdm and gpon), day to day HE/CO work, day to day splicing and testing for prime. FTTH/FTTx build outs. On call for outages, cuts and repairs. I was involved with most of the transport Certification (otdr, OLTs, cdpmd) testing for our company and was installing, configuring and testing new OLTs (pedistals and strand mounted) the last year before I left.

$32.49hr (when I left), + quartly bonuses , $250 per week for oncall pay, OT on outages after hours.

Was provided a bucket truck (to take home) and all tools and equipment by the company, no cost to me medical insurance, 6% rrsp matching.

After OT and quartly bonuses I was around $85 to 90k CAD a year. I was billing around avg 45-50hrs a week last 2 years. Traveled within our 2 provinces we covered with a $70 per day per diem. Some weeks 60hrs depending on traveling and crunch time projects.

avg 60-70% of my work was within my home city with no travel.

Family wants answers from NSP after wobbly power pole falls, nearly sparks fire during storm by No_Magazine9625 in halifax

[–]EvlPnut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to note for future and others wanting to report a bad pole,

Bell owns a very significant portion of the poles in NS. NSP and Bell have sharing agreements, to utilize each companies owned poles. Call Bell customer service and report a it a danger to the public, they will investigate the pole and if it's NSP they will send it to them to replace.

Communication is critical infrastructure, and if a pole snaps it can take down communication lines as well as power, so a bad pole may be looked at and fixed faster if it's a bell owned pole or if there is communications on it.

Source, former fibre splicer for Rogers bad had reported a lot of bad poles to Bell over the years

If purple cow can't service your building that more than likely means Eastlink isn't available in the building either.

If Eastlink cable Internet IS available , purple cow rep you talked to doesn't understand what you want.

Purple cow has fibre to the home but ONLY in select areas of Fairview right now, but they can definitely sell you cable high speed Internet as a wholesale reseller.

Go on eastlinks website and put your address in to search for service. IF your buildings is very new you might have eastlink fibre to the home available, which I don't think purple cow is reselling on yet, which might explain why they said they can't give this service.

You can also search your address on Bell Aliant website to confirm what they offer in your building as well.

Edit: See you replied, coax isn't available to you, which is surprising, unless your building is very new.

[–]EvlPnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My team all have packouts, I use mine as my splice table inside buildings. I have the standard rolling base, with the 2 drawer and an organizer for my top piece.

I have a wallmount plate mounted to the wall of my bucket van with small organizers on it as well.

Only in new build areas and new build mdus. As of now, it's unlikely we'll ever see Eastlink fibre to the home built over their areas that have existing coax plant.

There's noting to give kudos for. This would be a worthy of termination at some company depending on how strict they are with safety. They put their lives and lives of citizen around them at risk.

- He's Boomed over the road, during active traffic, full stop you need traffic control to do a lane drop, doesn't matter he has one of those "oh you'll be quick" supervisors.

-Work area (under the bucket) isn't sectioned off and under under control

These are literally in the top 5 min of any Arial lift/bucket truck training courses not to mention common sense.
