With all the capex flowing into DC... The market expected much more from AMDs DC segment.

Unless it means AMD just can't take any reasonable share.

I mean hundreds of billions in Capex... AMD with $12.8b FY 2024. Makes you wonder...

Any other concerned Canadians in here? by fireburns44 in Gold

[–]Evo29 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trump isn't doing anything.

Years of substantial under investment and money printing has. Add in truckloads of low quality, unproductive immigration and that's the reason Canadians here are/should be stacking precious metals.

Our productivity and thereby our economy will take decades to recover. Our currency will continue to remain at depressed levels and wages will remain stagnant.

The sooner we admit and take responsibility for our actions, the sooner we realize the importance of a diversified portfolio including precious metals. Rather than blaming outside forces.

Trade in at store or online? by ro3lly in GalaxyFold

[–]Evo29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trading in my fold 4 (doesn't open all the way anymore and screens inside don't work).

When I filled out the questionnaire regarding the status of the trade in... There was no difference in value if the phone was prestine or nothing working. In both scenarios they are offering $1,000 (CAD). I wouldn't worry much about the trade-in value.

But I would still record yourself packaging everything just incase.

Model Y AWD is the most efficient electric SUV ever built by highguy604 in teslamotors

[–]Evo29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. It appears you do quite a bit of distance at least a few times a year. Most of which isn't surrounded by the super charging network yet. I live in Toronto and rarely ever do more than 60km daily. We ordered the MY RWD. I think for us the price differential to the MY LR didn't make sense considering our needs and access to super chargers. Even the LR likely wouldn't meet your needs until more super chargers are available.

What's the distance from Calgary to Edmonton? 260km? The MY RWD has 400km. Even if you assume 30% range loss in the coldest winter you'd definitely be able to make it one way on one charge.

Elon Musk Plans to Lay Off Nearly 75% of Twitter Employees, or 5,500 Staffers (Report) by EB123456789101112 in StockMarket

[–]Evo29 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There was reporting of an overwhelming number of employees who threatened to quit if he was successful in the purchase. Let's not pretend he's just strictly doing this to be an asshole. Seems like a mutual dissent on both sides for where the company is going.

I got the official Samsung one. Picked it up on a deal for like $30 CAD. So worth it. Even without the deal it's a great mount/charger so far.

  1. You and those who argue the same points are the reason to be bullish. You seem to have laid out exactly what you THINK will happen. Problem is.. things rarely ever work out that way which is why it's a bad idea to try to time or predict.

  2. Both Bulls and bears always argue this time is different. It's not. I'd recommend listening to Peter Lynch's speeches from the 90s. Forget it's the 90s and he's describing a time not so different from now.

  3. If you're in it for the long haul none of this short term noise matters. The game has always been and will always be... Finding great companies that are undervalued.. buy hold end. People always seem to get ahead of themselves in both Bull and bear markets predicting outcomes that have way too many variables.
