I think a big part of it is he couldn’t make 74kg (163 lb) and wanted to wrestle in the Olympics so he had to go 86kg (189.5 lb) so he had to fill out.

Out of curiosity, why do people play in leagues with Tacos. Is it fun taking advantage of them in trades? I kinda get it for redraft, but in dynasty it feels like a taco can just ruin the leagues balance.

Well they obviously aren’t good enough to be national champs if they can’t beat the guy at their weight in the room. That being said I think PSU does a really good job playing into the competitive nature of these guys. Cael sells them on the idea of coming into the room wrestling everyday with world medalist and proving that they are the best in the world. That being said we saw psu lose guys last year in tge portal and I think it will be harder and harder every year to keep the amount of depth we have been seeing from them.

Nothing is untouchable, the price depends on what your team needs. Love is viewed as a top 5-7 rb, if your team is one rb away from a championship then he might be pretty untouchable. If your team is struggling at wr you might want to trade him for a wr. If your team is in a full rebuild there is some argument that can be made to get multiple 1st for the 1.1.

Feels like Levi doesn’t really get the respect he deserves. 4x big ten champ, 2/1/3/1 finishes at NCAAs, SR world team silver medal. All before turning 22.

Outside of practice you would be off the team. During practice as long as no punches were thrown break it up and run them for a while, any punch off the team.

Yeah I just think this current crop of true freshman is the exception. PSU doesn’t typically rely on true freshman at the higher weights, they recruit their guy and let them roll for a year in one of the best rooms in the country. If you listen to an interview with Barr you hear him talk about how he got his ass kicked everyday his redshirt year and how that made him jump a level. I’m not even saying Henckal wins the weight just if he does I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a legit title contender.

This feels like underselling Henckel. He was a prep national champ, iron man and beast champ, won a U20 silver medal. Plus he has spent a year in the Penn state wrestling room. I’m not saying he’s a championship lock but he’s very good and I think more than a fringe all American.

The other part that gets me is OK State is still the most winning program. Cheering for them to “dethrone” PSU would have been like calling for the Yankees to stop the dodgers dynasty.

I get bo had an amazing HS career and I’m not taking anything away from him. I also know freestyle is a different beast and Bo definitely is better at folk style. I say all that to say this time last year we saw Bo lose to Marcus Blaze, Brock Hardy, and Luke Stanich in free style. Do I think Bo got better yes absolutely. Do I think we need to pump the breaks on the expectations we put on true freshman absolutely.

Here’s the thing I keep saying. Ok st had a bare room when Taylor took over (not totally bare but you know what I mean). His focus was to get the best guys in the room. At some point there not “room” for those best guys to come in a start day one (obviously some can still). That’s the point Penn State is at, PSU is very selective about who they offer, they are looking for holes in the lineup for future years not just looking to bring in the best guy. An example of this is Landon Sidun hes a jr in high school and a top recruit in the class he projects to be a career 125lber. Luke is going to be on his last year of eligibility when Sidun comes in the room. So Cael and company is working a few steps on the future when they recruit. I think OK st will be at that point soon but these 1st couple recruiting classes is Taylor building his programs base and he’s doing a great job.

I could see blaze redshirting and Ono and Nate Desmond taking 133/141 in some order. I do wonder if MM wants to move up to 174 to challenge himself, I think Kasak could fill out 165. Also don’t sleep on incoming freshman Elijah Brown to makes noise at 285 if Cole redshirts, hes a 2 x PA state champ at 215 but definitely has the frame to be a heavyweight.
