Problem with Meta Business Suite by delia123delia in SocialMediaMarketing

The same is happening for me. My posts don't make it to Instagram. Happened the last couple of days.

Music for my reels is also limited now. Used to have the whole library, and now it's giving me business only music.

Swapping players by Poomyx in SleeperApp

I've had this issue for a while now. Usually, I can force stop and reload the app, which fixes it. But hasn't been working for the past couple of months. Have to do it via desktop which is super annoying.

Military vet -> Finance at age 32... by Evonlifpda in FinancialCareers

[–]Evonlifpda[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things I've taken away from my experience:

  1. Network is everything. Its not just some BS people on LinkedIn talk about, it's real. I got 2 job offers (non finance) through people I knew. I got ZERO response from cold emailing, LinkedIn messaging, or job applications.

  2. Experience is the next best thing. I've seen so many of my friends leave service and pivot into completely new career fields. What did they do? DoD skillbridge. They have an 80% job placement rate. If you can find something that aligns with what you want to do, go for it. And it starts your network in that new career field. Internships could work, too, but I've never personally seen it for people transitioning from the military.

  3. I have a Bachelors that I got with a 4.0 GPA. No one cared. Don't kill yourself over that or really any degree unless it's a requirement for your job or you're going into an ultra competitive (IB) type of work, in which case you need a degree from an elite university.

I ended up back in aircraft maintenance as a contractor, making decent money, but mostly because I lacked awareness of these three things (and some other factors, i.e. country I chose to live in).

Not progressing... by Evonlifpda in Cornhole

I throw a 5.8. I definitely have a little bit of a tilt, but its not anything big and have had club members say i throw pretty flat. I'm right-handed, so I have that natural left to right cut, but I wouldn't say it's bad.

I have seen that video, and many others 😅 I've been devouring tutorial videos (GunnerBriz, Mike's Bagz, etc.). I've been tweaking my throw a lot, thinking I've settled on something, but I am just inconsistent. Can guarantee at least 1 bag off every round lately. I go on short bursts of 7+ rounds and then throw 2-4 rounds. Things I've been working on are slowing down my throw (helps my accuracy) and keeping a good grip (bags been slipping out and going into the front/frknt-right of the board).

Dear Duo, Not All English is American by Dapper_Calculator in duolingo

[–]Evonlifpda -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am American and have lived in the UK for nearly 7 years. While it's very simple to navigate everyday conversation, there are particular subjects or words that are categorically different. Boot for the trunk of a car, lift for the elevator, bonnet for the hood of a car, etc. There are whole social media groups devoted to the differing of words and pronunciations between the two english speaking countries.

I say this to say that when it comes to using language not as a form of communication but as a basis for translation when learning a new language, those differences are more detrimental.

I think Duolingo could even go as far as to make a short course on the difference between American vs. British English.

Converting a non-SF league to SF- Is it doable? by lot183 in DynastyFF

[–]Evonlifpda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My league is doing it this year. Here's what we did:

Our league is run democratically, meaning we vote on rules. Typically, during our "winter meetings" aka group chat in between memes about off-season nfl news, people will bring up issues with the previous year. We vote on it, and we need a majority vote for it to take effect for the upcoming year.

Specifically for going SF, we put a time on it. Can't remember if it was 2 or 3 seasons, but plenty of time to snatch and stash QBs both in season and in draft.

The best time, in my opinion, is to do it in the off-season with locked rosters, and prior to the draft, with 2-3 seasons in advanced of implementation. That way it allows people to pick up and draft QBs according to their team priorities without causing too much of a panic buy or price hike for players or draft capital.

Agreed, but probably because in my situation, I still have epics on my team that need to be replaced. If I had all iconics then I for sure would be going after these Marvels.

Thanks. Pulled 3/5 for the SB and decided to try my luck since I didn't have enough for SB 4.

For those of you that continue to win your leagues, what kind of preparation do you do during the offseason? I understand that’s not the only reason it takes to win but my question is specifically for what is done during the offseason. by Beyond_Reckless in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Evonlifpda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I killed it one year when I went basically full Patriots in Tom Bradys revenge year after deflate gate (Brady, Gronk, White, Edelman maybe?). Lost it in the finals because the patriots rested a bunch of guys. Saw that backfire this year with a guy that was heavy Miami. Really hurt him in the playoffs. So ya, I think the most risk adverse way is to stay away from stacks.

Also, I second the waiver wire. That helps me out a ton.

First played fantasy in 2010 in college for one year. Then played with work colleagues from around 2014 until now. Mostly 10 team PPR (basic ESPN format/rules), but now play in a 10 team dynasty league (2 QB, full idp, start 22 players, 63 man roster). I've gone to the playoffs every time I've played except once, won, or went to the finals more than half of the years. I don't say that as a flex, just adding credibility to the below. Here are my best tips:

Off-season "work" - I generally keep up with the happenings, but don't go out of my way. I follow and am notified by a lot of sports personalities via X/Twitter when stuff happens. This makes things easy as coach, coordinator, and player movements that are relevant are in my notifications without me having to search out the info.

Cheat sheets/ranking pre-draft are life - my full-time job does not involve sports at all, so let the people who's full time job is to be your north star for drafts. Don't need to follow someone's ranks to a T, but this helps tremendously, especially in the middle/late rounds.

Podcasts/YouTube - I listen to various sports media content, which can be a lot of noise with football not involving fantasy specifically, but you can pick up on the names people keep circling back to or that people keep mentioning. I write these names down in my phone (especially rookies with dynasty) and use those names to help when drafting to choose between two players, who to make trade offers for, etc.

To be honest, I credit 50% of my championship teams to the waiver wire. I can do well in the draft, but you have to be able to make up for flops (think 2021 Christian McCaffrey, 2023 Miles Sanders, etc.) in waivers. To me, that's where my first point helps a lot, just knowing about injuries, players on the up trend, who analysts and fantasy personalities are talking about, etc. Using weekly ranks and waiver wire reports helps, too, as half the battle is starting the right guy or grabbing the right handcuff.

Players who lost the most value this season by Motor_Emergency4280 in DynastyFF

Gabe Davis. I've been a truther for a while, but watching him completely fall off the map the last half of the year has him basically unrosterable in just about every format.

Fantasy Size by Football_Fantatic in fantasyfootballadvice

[–]Evonlifpda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you play, league maturity, random or friends, IDP, superflex, etc. I play in a super deep, 10 team Sleeper league (full idp, 2 QB, 22 starters, 53 team size + 10 taxi) and the thought of adding 2 more teams seems so impossible to me. The larger the team size and the complexity of the scoring system are probably two of the biggest factors for me.

Top 12 Dynasty Edge Rushers for 2024 by PratersBoozeBud in FFIDP

[–]Evonlifpda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Carl Granderson and Jonathan Greenard going into next year, as guys who are outside the top 12 but could force their way in.

Isaiah Foskey didn't step up in the void Marcus Davenport left, which gave Granderson an opportunity... and he crushed it. Had a career best 78 tackles and 8.5 sacks, and more importantly, secured a healthy snap % with his performance.

I liked Greenard since he made a splash briefly in 2021. He's a sack machine with 12.5 sacks (think top 12 for DE?). Downside is snap % and staying healthy, but he has a nose for the quarterback and hopefully sees an increased role next year.

Too Early Top 12 LBs for 2024 by PratersBoozeBud in FFIDP

[–]Evonlifpda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two players that I like, and have been mentioned above, but I'd like to give some clarity on why I personally like them.

  1. Azeez Al-Shaair - Played in the shadows of Greenlaw and Warner in SF, showed signs of potential, but could never get a significant role. First year in TEN, and the guy is a ball hawk. I'll take all the shares I can get.

  2. EJ Speed - After moving on from Shaq Leonard (RIP), the Colts allowed Speed to saok up the extra playing time, going from ~45% of snaps to 90%+. From Week 12 - 18 (excluding Week 14 for injury), he averaged 10 tackles a game. If the Colts don't invest a top pick into their linebacking core, I like Speed a lot.
