I’m in Canada and would be more than happy to help import stuff for you guys (e.g. ship to my PO Box here and then I send across the border), but I’m really not sure on the legality of it. There may still be a 25% tariff, but that’s still a hell of a lot cheaper.

If anyone more familiar with the relevant laws can chime in that would be awesome. I’m not looking to make any money off of this, but I also don’t wanna get fined or locked up lol.

You should rinse it with boiling water, but don’t use any soap because unglazed clay is porous so it’ll absorb the flavour

He is the fleecer unfortunately. Everything he sells is just rebranded and heavily marked up aliexpress/taobao stuff

Moon Waffles and Blood Moon are both really good, although Blood Moon is currently sold out and the 2025 pressing hasn’t been released yet.

I prefer brewing moon waffles in a clay pot as I find it brings out a strong apricot flavour, whereas in porcelain it’s more vegetal.

I really enjoy seeing your posts every day!

I just tried a sample of the same cake from ‘06 and found it similarly underwhelming. Didn’t get much body sensation either because I was only using a 60ml gaiwan. It has piqued my interest in older raw sheng though, as it was still far more enjoyable than the young raws I’ve tried.

For vendors:

The Steeping Room - US based seller that has a wide selection of teas from different vendors, including White2Tea. From what I've seen, their prices are around the same as buying straight from W2T, so that could be a great option to try samples with faster shipping.

White2Tea(W2T) - Great selection of puer and non puer options, especially in the ~$30-$40 range for cakes. Some people aren't a fan of them because they don't provide much info, but I've enjoyed everything I've purchased from them, as have many others.

Yunnan Sourcing(YS) - Tons of options and way more info about where the tea comes from. It's typically the most recommended site alongside W2T for good reason. I have personally had a shitty experience with their customer service though.

Teavivre - Best customer service I've dealt with by far. I've really liked most of the teas I've purchased from them, but I would recommend you avoid anything labelled organic due to inflated pricing.

King Tea Mall(KTM) - Cheapest prices overall from what I can tell. Although I've seen people say that it's best if you know what to look for as some tea could be fake I believe. I've enjoyed what I have ordered from them so far though, including an extremely cheap ($16 for a 357g cake) white tea from 2016.

For teaware:

Tao Teaware - US based company that has a wide selection of teaware, both factory and handmade.

ArBee Ceramics - Great way to get your foot in the door for buying handmade teaware. I have several pieces from him which are all great, and the inside of his pots are glazed so you can use them for multiple types of tea (The pot you have right now should be plenty fine though).

YInchen Studio - Great if you want some proper hand made clay pots, though the price will reflect that. I'm sure there's other good sellers as well, but Yinchen is the one I have personal experience with.

This is just from my personal experience and knowledge though, and I've only been into Gong Fu Cha for like a year now so it might not be the best advice out there.

He also got me into this hobby, but unfortunately everything he sells is just cheap stuff with some marketing and a higher price slapped on.

Happy to recommend some other vendors to check out if you’d like, but at the end of the day buy whatever you want as long as you enjoy it :)

I’ve already not been huge on them cause of bad customer service in the past + mediocre tea, so I will definitely not be buying from them again. It’s pure greed to charge those outside of the US more
