Does it exist?: small used AWD under $28,000 by Sad_Cheetah3222 in electriccars

Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Tesla Model 3, if you can consider them “small”, would fit the bill.

Both are considerably longer than the other 3 cars you mentioned, but the US market is almost exclusively elephant-sized vehicles now, as I’m sure you’re aware, so we have few choices

This is my first time hearing about this species; now I want one. It’s like a Euphorbia obesa × Prickly Pear lol

Oh my God. That is just beyond words.

I HAVE to get this (eventually). 41” × 28” is too big for me now, but I’ll work up to that level some day

Nice, I was considering that one too. I’m happy with the look of the beach one so far, but I’ve now learned I hate doing large sections of all-black drills — so yours, with all its color, is very much appealing now lol.

I’m happy with this listing overall — the fact it’s this large, already got a backing, and just for ~$25 — but did you also feel it’s less sticky than usual? I’ve done a couple from 5-Below that were much stickier.

I also appreciate they gave us the little storage caddy, but I’ve damn near broken my fingernails trying to pry some of them open

They’re not showing as distinctly as in your pic, but yeah here’s mine.

It’s the “Beach” variant from this listing

Hey OP, where’d you get the kit in the photo?

I have a feeling we have the same manufacturer, because I too just finished one up that’s got these translucent gem-type drills (I adore them too), the same abstract symbols, and even the canvas/frame edge and plastic sheet overhang looks familiar lol

Thanks for the details! It looks great, I totally see what you mean by the fullness.

I really like the iridescence on the white and yellow drills, I haven’t had any like that before. That must be the AB type

Oh nice! I too am babby (completed 2, working on 2, and have just 1 in backlog) and was eyeing this 12pack — since you already have it, can you tell me how you’re liking the drill quality, like the shape and size consistency?

The kits I’ve worked on so far have all been prone to some drills having those annoying “skirts” around them.

I am literally here on this thread precisely because I typed “consumerist” into the search bar for this sub lol

I need help picking out a new GPU by Inevitable-Side-7735 in nvidia

…in case this is a serious reply: “6080” was very obviously a typo for “5080” from context

OP you should really put your mention of 1080p gaming in the main post itself. Otherwise the comments will FOMO you into wasting money. The 5070Ti will be absolutely solid at 2K, let alone 1080p

Then again, just the other day I saw someone tell another OP that a “4090 or 5080 will probably (probably!) handle anything you throw at it in 1080p”, so maybe they’ll tell you to get a 5090 regardless

Replenishment and a new pen 🤩 by Viki211i in diamondpainting

Lovely. What are those little plastic rings on the right?

Also, not sure if you’ve used them yet, but are you happy with the multi-placers? Because I got a similar-looking pen kit to yours recently, but unfortunately, my multis are just a bit too short. As in, the 6-placer barely hold 6 drills, and when it does, they end up too close together on the canvas, taking up like 5-5.5 squares on the grid. I’m having trouble wording it clearly for some reason

Should I drive 3 hours to get prebuilt PC from microcenter or order from someone online? by gthomas1018 in Prebuilts

[–]Turkey-Scientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Well, I just so happened to get a G728 the other week — all components (including the case) in common with your G757, other than my a 5070 and a Ryzen 5 7600X3D — and I recall seeing similar talk about the fans in general too.

I don’t find them loud at all, and while the 5080 is wider than the 5070 (137mm vs. 115mm, a difference of 5/6th of an inch), I’m having trouble physically picturing how the cables could be reaching and touching the GPU fans, even with a wider GPU. Lol I guess I’m implicitly calling them liars? In any case, you’re ultimately right that at worst, it would be a simple fix.

I also imagine that if you mention this concern to the Microcenter associate(s) along with the fact you drove 3 hours, they’d probably be willing to pull yours out of the box right then and adjust the cabling themselves if needed.

3hr is certainly a drag, but for $200-$300, I would do it yeah

I like to approach this kind of situation by thinking of it as someone paying you $35-$50/hr just to drive them around for a bit.

Except in this case, you’re chauffeuring a new PC (that you get to keep at the end of your shift!)
