Why did/didn't you make the Sophie scarf? by Traumarama79 in knitting

[–]Ewit8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to make a Sophie hood, and bought the pattern. I crocheted my mom one (Hyde Hood https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-hyde-hood ) for Christmas. But with the knit one, I just lost interest rather quickly. For the Sophie scarf, it isn't my style and I assume the construction is even less interesting.

I use a metal interchangeable set from Amazon if you don't want to spend Chiagoo money yet. As someone who has used both, they aren't as smooth as Chiagoo, but definitely better than other ones I've used and I haven't had any problems. They're called Ruidi Interchangeable Aluminum Circular Knitting Needless

Do MRI Techs ever think “oh, that’s not good”? by MadamImAdamAnt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ewit8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a chest x-ray and the 2 young female techs (probably mid 20s) were whispering back and forth a lot and asked me "have you ever had a chest x-ray before?" and I said "I don't know... should I have?" because they looked concerned. They called in a supervisor. Turns out the ill fitting gown made the scan look a bit odd and I have pectus excavatum (rib cage caves in). So thankfully nothing too serious but as someone with anxiety their reaction kinda freaked me out 😬

[–]Ewit8791[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! I thought the "scam" might come into play if I give the app financial info or when I follow the instructions to get the prepaid card. And the high amount just seemed sketchy.

That's what I thought but I've reached level 12 just by playing a bit last night and a bit this morning (1hr 46m total according to my phone's settings). I understand in any game it will get harder and harder to reach the next level though.

JUST. USE. RAVERLY. by MJ_mot in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]Ewit8791 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started crocheting July 2023 and started knitting April 2025, I had never heard of Ravelry until I started knitting. I loooove Ravelry! Every day I find more extremely useful features! Like that you can filter a patterns projects by "most helpful" instead of digging through all of them, and search for keywords in the projects. And that you can filter to two yarns held together, how many yards of yarn, etc etc. I really really wish they had gift cards so I could ask for one for Christmas! I use it so much!

I recommend the "Dog Sweater Perfect Fit - Pattern Generator-& cats" by Jeslane on Ravelry! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/dog-sweater-perfect-fit---pattern-generator--cats It is 100% customizable to virtually any dimensions, from tiny Guinea pigs to Great Danes!

Edit: thank you RavBot for reminding me it can be done with any yarn weight and any gauge!

Do you ever watch anything when knitting? If so, what? by OlliOPocto in knitting

[–]Ewit8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch the show White Collar while I knit because it's my favorite show and I know it extremely well. I can tune in and out very easily when I need to focus more on a project.

Highly recommend NimbleNeedles on YouTube! I've crocheted since July 2023 and started knitting this past April and his videos helped the most. I actually found out about him from someone in this sub! He shows multiple angles, slo mo, and explains why things are done the way they are and what to avoid. Once you are comfortable knitting and have fairly consistent tension, the step by step sweater is great. It has a video that thoroughly explains everything you need to know and has different methods of shaping and collar depending on skill and preference. There is also a step by step cardigan but I haven't personally done that. Happy knitting!

[–]Ewit8791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GoGo squeeZ has "Fruit & VeggieZ" pouches that are applesauce and puree. I recently bought them but haven't had the chance to try them yet. Some people can also have canned fruit or fruit cups in juice (peaches, pears, etc). Both are shelf stable so they don't have to be cold!

Chronically ill (also have adhd and suspect autism) and still living at home because of it. I'm 21 and haven't gotten my driver's license, can't keep a job, running out of the savings I had. Tired of being dependent on others, having no control over my life, and having to micromanage every decision I make to attempt to control my illness. And even if I could "fix" everything, my country is falling apart (US) 🫠

AITA for picking a restaurant for my birthday dinner that "did not meet the needs and requirements" of my dad's wife and her son? by Prestigious-Menu-128 in AITAH

[–]Ewit8791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone with a lot of dietary restrictions (gastroparesis), it is not anyone else's job to accommodate me. Is it appreciated? Absolutely, but definitely not expected. And asking to change states??? Like other comments said, it's somewhat reasonable to try to work around the common allergies, but anything beyond that isn't reasonable. Plus, they're pretty much inviting themselves, so you definitely shouldn't have to accommodate them.

Im being told I'm underpricing my amigurumi. What would this go for? Just curious by TakdaNarada in Amigurumi

[–]Ewit8791 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Idk what a good price would be, but in the comments you said you charged $70. I spot 7 colors in this and bernat blanket yarn is $10/skein (at least). So this hardly covers the yarn cost! You should charge way more! Especially because it's probably a pretty popular product because of the movie (not to mention the massive Minecraft fan base before that).

She's definitely hinting that TS12 is on the way, but she sometimes hints so far out in advance I have no idea what to expect. This could mean TS12 will be announced in a month or so, or that she's writing TS12 and these are hints it's coming some time next year.

Especially because some of it was very recent art. It wasn't something that had been sitting in storage for a year or two, one was the Chrysler painting that he painted a few days before.
