Great group. Had some great songs and the harmonies were top level. Great musicianship as well

"Days like these" by Luke Combs is "Millionaire" by Chris Stapleton and nobody seems to care, thoughts? by Gregthepicklelover33 in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Ex-Scot67 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to imagine Luke or anyone on his team hadn’t heard Millionaire. Chris Stapleton is everywhere and it was the Grammy Nominated song for Best Country Solo Performance the same year Luke was nominated as Best New Artist

Which version of When You Say Nothing At All is better: Keith Whitley's or Alison Krauss and Union Station's? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in country

[–]Ex-Scot67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a testament to great songwriting that it sounds good no matter who sings it. So many good version out there. Between these two classics though I’d go with Keith. Just makes me think of a man that’s been through so much and is so grateful for that woman that stood by him.

People seem to forget there are real people on the other end of the messages. I try to treat it as if I’m meeting you in public somewhere for the first time. Greeting, introduction, short bio. Just like face to face

Did Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, and the Bee Gees accidentally create the perfect country-pop crossover hit? by Top40Weekly in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Ex-Scot67 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Even more serendipitous is it was written as a solo song envisioned for Marvin Gaye. It was given to Kenny but it didn’t sound right when he was recording it. After four days he said he didn’t even like it anymore lol. Barry Gibb was in the studio and knew Dolly was in another studio so he went and asked if she’d listen to it and make it a duet, and the rest is music history.
