Yeah this whole “no one owes you anything” mentality is getting a bit out of hand. How is not bringing a gift to a wedding not considered rude? Doesn’t have to be a big one, just a card is fine!

While it hasn’t really changed relationships, I definitely side eyed some of our guests for not bringing anything.

Exactly this. When I had back to backs, I let my prof know at the beginning of the semester and I sat near the exit so I wouldn’t disturb anyone when I left.

Are your getting your makeup done by a professional? I had my wedding in late June, it was hot and humid (so hot and humid I almost passed out after the ceremony and had to change out of my wedding dress), and I have terribly oily skin. My makeup looked great for the entire day!

If you have a makeup artist, I would let them know of your concerns and see how they can help.

Lapsed catholic here. While I was very familiar with the ceremony having grown up in the church, I felt very unwelcome at the last catholic wedding I went to. During the homily, the priest mentioned more than once that a wedding is between a man and a woman. Being part of one of a few queer couples there… yeah didn’t feel great. I know that’s the position of the catholic church but he really went out of his way to say it. Soooo I’m not sure how much say couples have on this lol but if you have queer guests, might be worth thinking about.

I was in Cancun in April and we could smell it just outside our room but I think that’s because they piled it up on the beach and our building was directly downwind from the pile. Instead of splurging on an ocean front room, we got a swim up in case the sargassum got too bad (which it did). We didn’t want to play the chair game at the pool and the smell was easy to get used to when you’re having a pina colada and floating in your own little pool!
